I've ran across this phrase a few times, and I haven't foggiest idea what it means. Does anyone here know?

Hmmm. Well, it's normally prefaced by "translating" or "interpreting" in my line of work, but I guess we're looking at the kinky possibilities.

For some reason I am thinking it's either an equestrian reference, or connected to forced feminization/Victorian schooling. I'll see if I can find any evidence to support that.

One definition

The "Governess" or "HeadMistress or Master/student" roleplay variant of corporal punishment is usually referred to as "English" style. Simply because corporal punishment was practiced in schools in England until fairly recently.
