Yes, stereotypes are to be avoided, but just two people having sex would be a bit dull - the wonder and delight of discovering for the first time that somebody from a different race can be viewed as a sexual creature, and make a thrilling sexual partner should be played up - that's why I suggested it be put on the college cross country team - especially for people from small towns, exposure to people of different races can still be extremely rare, and for many, college is not only the first time away from home, but the first time they interact with different races and cultures.

The natural closeness that comes from shared activities and the shared interest in athletics is a good vehicle for bringing them together for the first time. The story would work best it if starts from the complete indifference, maybe even irritation, of the two partners, and proceeds to unbridled lust and the thrill of the surprise as they discover the delight they can take in each other.
