Post your bit of trivia that won't be a damn bit of use to anyone else, but it's still interesting.

The speed of light is 186,000 miles per second.

  • A typical orgasm lasts from three to ten seconds, with contractions occurring every 0.8 seconds for both men and women.
  • According to Playboy, more women talk dirty during sex than men
  • According to recent surveys, the man is the most likely partner to be tied up during sex.
  • According to Playboy, the most popular sexual aid is erotic literature.
  • The initial spurt of ejaculate travels at 28 miles per hour. By way of comparison, the world record for the 100 yard dash is 27.1 miles per hour.

I think we might have a week's work for Mythbusters

That post is disqualified because most of it is actually highly useful.

To go from kilos to pounds, multiply by 2.2
To go from meters per second to mph, multiply by 2.2

You all have my word that I'll try my best to be more useless in the future.

Please don't tell me they've already done the semen speed test.

That's next on my agenda. I was talking about the episode where they busted the goldfish myth. :)

The only creature in recorded history to be struck and killed by a meteorite was a dog in Egypt in 1913.

It takes approx. 2.1 million mosquitoes to suck all of the blood out of an average sized human.

In 1865 there were only 2 cars in the entire state of ohio...and they collided.

The only ship to damage itself in WWII was the HMS Jamaica.

They forgot to cold proof their torpedoes.

The Japanese have borrowed the English word "smart" but the definition is changed.

Smart = Skinny, not, "Showing mental alertness and calculation and resourcefulness."

I live about 45 min from Springfield. Been there many times. It did make the news a few years ago because someone bought 50 acres and opened a nudist colony. The locals were quite upset.

For the record: There is no nukular powerplant in springfield ky.

Horses can walk up stairs, but not down them....something to do with the way their muscles work together. That's one reason you have to back them off a trailer...they can step down that way. Otherwise, they jump.

Mitochondria which are the backbone for metabolism which drive the high-energy actions characteristic of complex forms of life are also the main factor dramatically lowering lifespans.

A greater concentration of unsaturated fatty acid chains in the lipid bilayer of a cell keeps it fluid at lower temperatures.

The average college biology textbook can double as a formidable bludgeoning weapon.

Wait, that last one was actually useful, never mind.

It takes three licks to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop.

Specifying a font that is not available on a system is a logic error. Java will substitute that system's default font.

The number of fonts varies greatly across systems. The J2SDK guarantees that the fonts Serif, Monospaced, SansSerif, Dialog and DialogInput will be available.

The average college programming textbook can also double as a coffee table. :p Far too heavy to heft as a weapon.
