Advice from ladies that use these would be appreciated.

When you first started using them did you have trouble with the fit?

Do you have trouble getting the ring fully behind your pubic bone?

Does it slip forward as the day wears on?

It states that 5% of women will be unable to wear them comfortably - I would hate to think that I am in the minority and would rather believe that I am just inserting it improperly.

Any advice or tips?

Sorry.. I am no help to you. I just wish they were available in Ireland

I love using softcups. It is kind of difficult to become accustomed to placing a cup that far inside of yourself, especially with whort fingers :). I used my thumb and pushed down and back. Sometimes it didnt fit, so make sure that you wear a panty liner. You can adjust it. I haven't had any trouble with it moving during the day though.
If you like the Instead, why not try a Diva Cup?

Instead Softcups

I recently bought a box of them under the advice of some of the ladies from lit. i managed to get it behind my pelvic bone, but like you, it did seem to slip thoughout the day. Besides that, it was somewhat uncomfortable. i took some Advil because i reeeeally wanted them to work for me (i was having "company" later that night :D ) It leaked the first go with it, so i hopped in the shower and removed it, then replaced it again, and it still leaked. By this time, i was tender and sore in there and just wanted it OUT. the rest of them will probably sit under my bathroom sink forever, i honestly doubt i'll ever use them again. i've heard rave reviews about them, but i guess it just wasn't for me.

I find that half the time they fit okay, and other times they don't. If I'm already aroused, they seem to go in better (the vaginal walls swell out and give you more room in there).

It's also best to use them during light period days.

When I first started using them, yes, I had a little trouble getting them to fit. Needed to wear a pantyliner the first few times. After the intitial getting to know you I had no problems whatsoever.

They're cool in that they allow for blood free intercourse. I haven't used them in years however.

I have been using instead for a few years.

No problem with fit, they just slip back to where they go on me. They are much easier than putting in a cervical cap or diaphragm.

they don't slip forward on me either, and I can't feel them.

the only problem I have is in removal sometimes. if I let them get too full and I forget to break the suction before pulling them out blood flinging occurs :D all over my hands, occasionally clothes if I am not careful and usually bathroom floors.
This usually happens to me the first day of heavy bleeding until I remember. When wearing the first couple days I try and plan to being in individual bathrooms with sinks just in case.
on the light days I remove it in the shower in the morning and at night.

2nd thing, make sure your instead is emptied before you have sex of any kind, because the spasms from coming will expel more blood and it might get too full.

I wear mine for 12 hrs, if I have to empty it before the 12 hrs are up. I remove it, tip the blood out, rinse it with hot water and then reinsert it. This is not recommended however, but so far it works for me.

since using insteads I have had less irritation which I suspect was from partially dry tampons pulling on vaginal walls and that stupid string chafing me.

I have not used one tampon since using insteads. if I am worried about leaks I will use a panty liner, the leaks I have had have been minor.

The other weird thing about using instead is you see what is coming out of you (blood & clots), either when rinsing or wrapping it up for disposal, so I guess you have to be comfortable with that.

I hope this helps.

hmm

I guess I see the point of these for blood free sex, but I feel it's time for the requisite plug for The Keeper which I heard of here at Lit & have been using ever since... it's not disposable itself, which I think rocks - one time buy, basically.

Blood flinging - lmao! Nice!
