are you always the one to instant message someone first? or do you wait for someone to talk to you. Does it ever make you feel like people just don't care because you have to im first? I hate feeling like people don't care. I am always im'ing first and when i don't...my couple of close friends im me but the others that i talk to when i do im first never do it first. I am just feeling, never mind...okay i know with this post trolls will come...so flame away

No seriously, I will say hi to someone if they come on after me for the simple fact that if they were already there I feel I'm invading something they have going with another person. I know I wouldn't like to be in the middle of something with someone and be interupted.

I like the Instant Messageing services we have, but I also know that the way I've been feeling lately, I've let a lot of people down, and I'm sorry for that.

Oh well, but to answer you, God I'm glad you know how much I ramble, I'll IM them first if they come on after me, cause I don't like to interupt.

I used to IM first, but I kinda got sick of me being the one to make the attempt for the friendship. Except for one person, I wait and let them IM me (which doesnt happen too often).

I know what you mean where it feels almost like they dont care. I kinda started thinking that if they cant take the time to say sumthin to me, then they arent worth my time.

Im usually the first to IM a person. Sep a few of my friends IM me the same second they get one which feels good.

But i know that just cuz i IM them first dont mean they dont care bout me or whatever. If they know im on and dont at all and im sitting there waiting then it makes me think but I try to think that there just busy or something. I trust and give my friends the benefit of the doubt.

Im just saying that with my friends. I used to think maybe they didnt wanna talk to me but I know thats not it.

Which is fine, but like I said, what if they are already on and you don't want to interupt, some people like myself, don't like to turn others away, so you end up trying to keep up on many conversations and letting the one you really want to talk too suffer for it.

Also how do you cope if you DO IM someone first, and then you get the feeling they don''t want to talk to you anyway? How do you think that makes the poor person feel that IMed? There they are talking to you and yet you don't respond ... No wonder you don't IM them anymore.

Sorry touchy subject for me right now.

It's okay having people IM you, but if you don't wanna talk or don't feel like talking to that person say so, it hurts someone more to ignore them than to let them know.

I think when it comes to IMing, it's courtesy more than anything, on BOTH sides. I'd rather tell someone to shut up and leave me alone than make them feel like you don't wanna talk to them.

With me, I IM people soon as I get on. And I am busy I tell them. I am always talking to my fiance` via use of MSN, but I still IM my friends and tell them that I am busy.

The way I see it, is like seing your friend, and not saying hi. I just think thats rude.

I'd have to say it's 50-50.
Sometimes I IM first, other times I dont.

but I'm usually always there and dont turn down poeple if they do IM me.
