Informing readers of updates

When there is a good story, you want to read the newest updated threads but it can take ages to find if you have to go through all the possible options. I have a system that might work.
On the 1st page of your story you should list the latest 10 updates and which options to click to find them.
e.g.
4 3 1 Oct 27th: means choose option 4 on page 1
followed by option 3 on page 2
followed by option 1 on page 3
thread updated Oct 27
Hopefully this will increase the number of times your story is viewed and encourage people to add new threads to your story more quickly.

A good longhand version of the notation would be something like

Choice #4 -> #3 -> #1

I don't know-- it makes it easier to read for me.

Here's to hoping Gystex approves my 2 1 1 2 1 1 1 in the Sappho's Amulet story.

excellent idea but will anyone really use it? the site just needs a better search engine.
