Information Sharing comes to an end.

UK police announced this morning that they will no longer be sharing terrorist information with the USA.

This follows the release of information to the New York Times, Information that the UK had expressly asked their counterparts to keep secret.

The UK police knew the identity of the bomber but wanted that fact kept secret to give them more time to round up known associates. The premature release of that information and police photographs has endangered the investigation by forewarning other members of the cell.

Note that the information sharing is ONLY blocked for the Manchester bombing, not for ALL information sharing between the UK and the US.

Unless the US stops the leaks, it could seriously damage ALL information sharing about terrorist activities. That would be a disaster for fighting jihadist plots around the world. The sharing of information is essential to prevent attacks.

The Five Eyes arrangement has been very useful to the US (and NATO):

At worst the recent leaks could lead to the break-up of Five Eyes. That would be a major coup for the jihadists, far more significant than they might have expected from a single suicide bomber. The way I see it our allies will have seriously damaged our ability to fight. What we now have is the reverse of the Philby, Burgess and Maclean scandal. It took more than a decade for the USA to trust us with intel after that. How many police forces are going to include the US in the loop now? My guess is that they will all keep it to themselves until the case is over.

No way should the 5 Eyes agreement be lost due to this. Has to be the most important intelligence agreement EVER. The Anglophone cousins are all heavily integrated. Not just in their intelligence gathering but in their militaries too. Lose the 5 Eyes agreement and the whole thing could unravel. Jihadists, Russia, China, North Korea, Iran all would be celebrating.

If folk in the White House aren't ratting out on one another they are pimping themselves out for the news and a few bucks. Get a grip America!

Probably all it will take is for Americans to toss Trump and his shallow/ignorant philosophies and policies out. His campaign and presidency is what has created this atmosphere of insanity. I think the rest of the world understands this--while being aghast that there are so many unwashed/unthinking Americans like Trump to have gotten him into office no matter how much he tried to exhibit himself as totally unfit in every way.

That is the central government announcement.
However, whether individual police forces will continue to disclose critical information is anyone's guess.

The problem is that there are people like you that hate Trump so much that they would betray their country in order to make one person look bad. Trump can't even tie his shoes in a way that most liberals/democrats would approve of, so many traitors on his staff will sell out the integrity of their country if it makes the HuffPo front page. You disgust me.
