I have just received some feedback on my first submission - I didn't know it had been posted! Do Literotica normally inform you when a story has been posted?

re: notification

The first notice I usually get is from a reader with a feedback :) the guys are really good about getting your works up as quickly as possible here, but I don't get any email notification. Not sure if there is a way to do so I am missing or just the way it is. This is my first post here, glad I found a thread where I had something to add :)

Thanks Colly - that was useful! Was also wondering if there is anyway that you can find out how many times your story has been read etc?

Goldie

Sure can,

Log into the site then go to submissions, then view. It will show each story along with views, reads, vote average etc. All the good stuff :)

just to add that if for any reason it's rejected, you *will* get an email telling you why.

Hi Goldie,

My feet are still unsteady (so to speak) but what Colly said is right. If I'm anything to go by, once you've found the place, your first thing, whenever you log on, is to go to Lit, Submissions, View. How many folk read it by now, and what's the vote stand at? Either that or check your email to see if any of your readers sent feedback!

Hapy writing,

PS My first is at http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=101427 where's yours?

Hi and thanks for the info - i've found it now!!

Also, thanks for your feedback and comments on my first story - I appreciate them very much. I take on board what you said about build up, characterisation, expansion of detail etc but feel that this is not what this piece is about - its about that quick, anonymous fuck on the train if you like!! I also take on board what you say about writing the male character in the 2nd person -most comments - since you asked!- say that they liked this direct approach to the reader as it made them feel it was happening to them!

Anyway - its all a case of personal taste sometimes and I am working on longer pieces with the characters in the 3rd person - you may prefer those! Haven't had a chance to read your piece yet - but I will!

Definitely!

I did point out that the comments I made were more about my tastes than about your story, but I hoped you'd find them interesting enough to justify the time taken to read them, if only as one anecdotal response.

What I thought might be helpful (if I'm typical of any class of reader) were the reasons for my preferences - getting sucked into easily believable bits, so that I'd have suspended disbelief before getting to the action..

But once again - in public - I did think your story was well written. That it isn't quite by own bag is my problem, not yours.

Keep writing!

Goldie,

The link to your story didn't work for me. It just took me to the Literotica home page. What you really want to do is provide a link that goes staight to your story.
