On or before June 20, 2003 I will recieve $600,000 cash, tax free money for the sale of some of my land. It was recently brought to my attention that my wife has been bragging to all her friends how she was going to stiff me for at least half of this amount. The sale of this land if from an inheritance and my lawyer says she is not legally entitled to a penny of it, except possibly through alimony.
I welcome any and all input from my LIT friends as to how you would resolve this situation, bearing in mind that my wife has been having an affair with a known drug dealer for the last year and a half.

A few things to consider.

1. Did you ever comingle this property with marital property. I do not know if GA is a marital proerty state. If it is, your ex-wife could be entitled to some of it.

2. Most states are no fault states. meaning that even for alimony the poor behavior or faults of one person will not affect the property distribution.

That is all.

Georgia is a Marital Property state...where only property gained during the marriage is involved.
If it was me, I'd do everything I could (barring anything like murder or abuse) to keep her dirty, selfish paws off of it. In my opinion, she has no right to it.

 Shortie  BUMP!!!!
