This guy is starting to sound a lot like Jimmy Swaggart. It seems odd given the fact that the popes of the recent past have been fairly circumspect in their statements.
Christ was also Jewish, and would be 1st in line to revere the traditions and prescriptions contained within the Talmud or Old Testament. He'd forgive you rather than stone you, but he wouldnt approve your conduct. At the end of the day you'd be alive AND still a sinner.
This statement is not an infallible one.
Since 1870, only one Papal statement has been declared to be infallible - in 1950.
However, a papal statement, even though that statement is not declared as infallible, must be given considerable weight by practicising Catholics.

We atheist queers aren't laughing. We agnostics just get a good laugh out of it.

Jesus was a devout Jew, and the Usual Suspects like to ignore this. Contemporary society likes to mold and shape him into what they want, but he was a devout Jew...and his integrity got him into serious trouble. I cant imagine that he would ordain a same-sex marriage or pre-marital sex.
I don't see anyone denying that Jesus was Jewish...well, except for R.Richard, and who pays attention to him anyway?
Jesus was, above all, kind, and you don't know anymore than I do what he would or would not accept. It's rather disingenuous for you to pretend that you do. It says absolutely zero about same sex partnerships in the New Testament. I imagine that if it was considered such a sin, something would have been written about it.
He agrees with Pinkstarfish, that if you don't recycle you go to hell. I don't like "Nazis" like that either. Why are we listening to the Nazi again?

Dementia, perhaps-- I'm thinking he 'll be our very first Alzheimers pope!Be grateful that he's old.
Actually, I'm beginning to wonder if he isn't lapsing into dementia. Here the old (military expletive deleted) is worried about the continuance of the species and so he condemns gay marriage at the same time that gays and lesbians want to get married and have children.![]()
Oh come on Cloudy, show a little "Christian" charity to the asshat. It is SO much easier for people like Jimmie Blow Job to use their "guesses" and the bible to slam us evil queers, cuz after all we are every bit as bad as those truly corrupt people who do terrible things like eatting shrimp cocktail!![]()
Until you get to Acts 15 where Paul, St. James and St. Peter, after much prayer and meditation, essentially throw out the old Torah prohibition as inapplicable to non-Jewish Christians. And even that's only by inclusion rather than specificity. Heck, the New Testament says absolutely zero about sex between unmarried people at all.
We agnostics just get a good laugh out of it.
