well what kindof things are you into, interested in? that is how you can start by making your own thread, or you can read someone elses thread and join in. i like to read other peoples threads and see if i like it and if i do then i will add to what they have written. you need to be creative, willing to just step right into the pretend person that you want to be on here. alot of details are good, just remember it's pretend and it will go fine.

Other suggestions:

-Read other people's profiles and see who interests you
-Have some of your own ideas for stories and themes
-Some people like to use Yahoo IM for "starters" or quickies from what I've observed. That might be a way to start if a story intimidates you.
-If you're self-conscious, you can start with private stories although most people prefer to write on the Lit. board
-Read other stories
-You also might want to move this thread or duplicate the thread in the Lounge section of SRP vs. this story forum
