Indian BDSM

I, until now, have read so many things about BDSM and this lifestyle in general. But most of it came outside of India.

Maybe I missed the Indian content, maybe people are still not comfortable talking about it.

Anyways, I wanted to create a small space were we all can talk about it without any restrictions on the subtopic or anything else. Any and all comments are welcome!

There was much use of corporal punishment by the British in imperial India, both in the Army and in general life.
I read recently that the prefect system in English public schools was used to train boys to become colonial administrators who would give judicial canings. George Orwell wrote a short essay on judicial punishment.

There is history (you have to search for it) and also fiction.

The novel 'A Passage to India' included the punishment (and rape?) of Kumar and one of these stories is derivative of that.

I dont know anything about Indians punishing other Indians. I do have an Indian friend (Oxford educated) who likes me to spank him.

Yes, that is true.I find BDSM Fascinating but truly love non-bdsm content. I wouldn't mind light spanking and gentle pegging, though.

Yes, interesting observation. There is very little explicitly written about the topic of BDSM in India. Occasionally there are some Indian news papers that will write an article or so on the topic or mention some small get togethers of practitioners in some cities. But nothing significant. Although i think quite a few Indian movies irrespective of language, have BDSM content, perhaps not intending them in that light. Nevertheless there is a sexual component often in the way BDSM content supported scenes are depicted.

But largely I think you are correct, it is still a reclusive topic, although it is not clear if it is a taboo topic. I wonder if the percentage of the population that is inclined towards BDSM tendencies in India (and SE Asia in general) is itself lesser than in the west.

I would say BDSM is present in India but probably underground. Their society is not very open--at least in public--when it comes to sex. The book of Kama Sutra is an example that they do have well-developed sex techniques and books.
