Yesterday was a great day.
While it was fun- the barbecues, the fireworks, the parades, let us remember that we were celebrating our freedom and independence from tyranny, and remembering all those who fought against it.
And let us not take it for granted, because once again, like 250 years ago, our freedoms are once again threatened by forces of tyranny and oppression. NEVER take your freedoms for granted. Because the time may come where we need to fight for them once again. If one side is promoting disenfranchisement, oppression of women, trampling of civil liberties, overturning elections, racism and hate, it is our duty as free citizens to fight back, push back against that side. And while we celebrate our freedom, realize that we cannot take it for granted, and the time may come, very soon, to fight for it again, just like our ancestors did in 1776 (and overseas in Europe in 1941-1945.)
