Faith?

I was acquainted with several small churches in my youth and I know that they are rife with behind the scenes shenanigans. Some one was always doing another man's wife , drinking or gambling on the sly only to be found out by fellow church members and ostracized. If they believe they must be pure of heart and sin free to handle the serpent without incident there has to be a plot bunny in there somewhere.

I personally handle non poisonous snakes as needed. I know how to handle them and have the proper tools for doing it. I don't do it for kicks, I rescue neighbors with a black snake in the garage or a garter snake in the kiddie pool. To me this is insanity to others it is faith I guess.

Sometimes crazy really IS its own reward. Clothing it in religion just makes it more acceptable to the masses. ('k just a tiny bit acceptable)
