We all know that we work generally for a set salary sometimes with raises and bonuses thrown in here and there.

We all know that we pay a tax on that money that we slave our buttka's off to earn.

what is the penalty if you decide not to pay but to keep that which you worked to earn?

Yes we all know what income tax does but thats not the question.

That's tax evasion and the federal penalties range from fines to prison time.

Any and all assets you have (bank accounts, car, home, etc) can be seized to pay the back taxes.

ARe you saying you get punished for not giving away the money you sweat to make?

Yep, that's what I'm saying.

I'm also saying I should be punished for giving you the opportunity to make your little point.

Punished for keeping what you worked to earn. That sounds to me like:

Income tax = MAFIA PROTECTION MONEY

Between the two, I have more respect for the Mafia. At least they don't pretend to be honorable and their rate of extortion is lower.

Okay--I propose that if you wish to cease paying any taxes that:

1.) You pay a fee every time drive, walk, or use any publicly owned street.
2.) Fees for enjoying public waterfountains, the safety of streetlights, air that is less-polutted dur to auto and environmental regulations, etc
3.) No health care whatsoever. All healthcare research in this country has had government funding in one way or another.
4.) Etc. Anybody got any others they can think of? (I am late for church!)

If you refuse to pay--you are also refusing to benefit. I, personally, am all for that!

I just thought of another:

If you refuse to pay taxes, you can then opt to house a federal or state convicted prisoner (politically correct term is: OFFENDER) in YOUR home at YOUR expense. You may either guard this creature yoruself or provide an officer to do so for you.

(Remember, you have to provide a pretty white or orange jumpsuit for that person too. And food. And basic necesities like eye-glasses or diabetic drugs or whatever. They don't get goodies and it is not fun, but I bet any one would rather live with you as opposed to prison. You do not have to provide anal rape to the offender though. That is, of course, optional.)

Some of the same people who support the vigorous foreign policy of the US also want to deny its right to tax to support not only that foreign policy but the domestic needs as well

The industrial Revolution changed everything. We cannot rely on families to take care of their own anymore on their farms.

Our industry benefits us in many ways so its by-products need addressing by us. That takes money. I think taxes in this country are assessed fairly well...the poor don't pay taxes but get money back that they did not pay in...how many countries do that...the people that can afford to pay the taxes pay a decent amount..taxation rewards are given to those who do things that nbenefit society in some way..thats why i dont support the flat tax....however there always needs to be tweaking to the system
