I've had an idea for a story that I think is too hard for me to write given the sort of thing I normally do, so I was wondering if somebody a bit more skilled might give it a go?

I always like those time travel stories like Back to the Future where Marty travels back to when his mom was a hot young teen and has to struggle not to get off with her and screw up his timeline or that episode of Futurama where Fry meets his grandmother when she was a sexy young thing and accidentally winds up becoming his own grandfather.

Often like with the BTTF example, the issue is to try and avoid getting it on with your relative and to make sure that what you do doesn't mess up the future and mean that you wouldn't be born or something. But, what if a guy travelled back through time and discovered instead that the time travel paradox was that he had to fuck his own mother. If he didn't then he wouldn't be born because he is his own father.

In fact, this paradox is the only reason why he can travel through time. He can travel back twenty years, but only if he fucks his mother back then and completes the loop. The story could involve all the fun he'd have going back to the 80s and his realisation, a mix of horror and excitement, that he has to seduce his hot eighteen year old mom or never exist.

Of course, the story could keep going in further chapters if he suddenly found he could travel back to the 60s when his grandmother was a sixties flower power, free loving hippy. Once again, he can only resolve the time travel paradox by fucking his grandmother and conceiving the mother he has already screwed in the 80s, so she's his daughter, mom and lover.

Could even go into the future if he fucks his mom in the present, fathers a daughter that he would then jump forward 20 years to do.

confusing.

well, it is for me.

That's why I think it needs a writer who's able to write it in such a way that everybody reading it would get it.

Essentially it's a time travel paradox like The Terminator where because John Connor becomes the saviour of the human race he has to send Kyle Reese back to the 80s in order to protect his mother Sarah Connor. Because he does this, Kyle fucks Sarah and becomes John's father. If he hadn't done this, John would never have been born and would never have sent Kyle back to become his father. It sort of has to happen because it already has. This story is sort of like that, except instead of sending back his best friend, our hero travels back through time himself and becomes his own father.

As I said, it's like Fry being his own grandfather in Futurama. He went back to the 40s, fucked his grandmother and this meant that he has different brainwaves to other people and was able to save the world. Because the hero of this story is his own father (and if the chapters continued his own grandfather), this gives him the ability to travel in time. He has to go back to the 80s and become his own father because it's already happened.

Interesting thought. Kind of sounds like the movie "Time Travelers Wife" where he goes forward or backward in time to fuck his own wife to get her pregnant because I believe he had had a vasectomy. An excellent movie, by the way. Edit - It may have been her idea and not his, can't remember for sure.

That's sorta what I was gonna say.
For some reason he must be his own father to time travel (I don't see why), so if he doesn't fuck his mother in the past he can't do so.
I don't get it.

Your example in the first post sounds like a Star Trek episode, where Captain Picard is transported to a deserted planet with an alien who doesn't speak the same language (uses folklore and myth as example).
They are forced to work together against a common foe (a Doctor Who anti-matter monster).

You could also try the "Somewhere In Time" (Chris Reeve and Jayne Seamour) time travel scenario (meditating when staring at a Colonial portrait).

Not being someone who's watched much Star Trek, I can't exactly see a great deal of similarity between a future set story about a starship captain on a desert planet with an alien who doesn't speak english and a story about a modern day guy travelling back in time to the 80s and sleeping with his own mother. Like I said, I think Back to the Future is the closest example of the sort of story, if it had just had a slightly different outcome.

That's the point. He already is his own father. Because of time travel, that already happened. So, he has to be able to time travel otherwise he wouldn't exist. It's one of those self fulfilling time travel paradoxes like in Bill and Ted or often in Dr. Who. It has to happen because it already has.

It's not really about the mechanics of time travel, it just uses this paradox as an excuse for a plot that just sticks him in the 80s. I was kind of thinking he would just wake up in the 80s at the beginning and try to figure out why before learning that it had happened so he could become his own father. It's a fantasy story, like Dr. Who, not hard sci-fi, like Primer.

I highly recommend that comedy Hot Tub Time Machine.

There's one scene in the beggining where after a group of dudes go back in time, the kid of the group sees his mom in the 80's and finds out she's a slut.

Hillarious movie.

I agree with you. I had the wrong thread.

Futrama already did it.

Fry sleeps with his grandmother and ends up being his own grandfather.

Be careful, LO. If FO reads your post he'll try to engage you into a long debate about that episode of Futurama. Sadly, I allowed myself to fall victim for a while.

Perhaps you missed where I already mentioned that episode twice in two seperate posts above in terms of how it was the major influence on me thinking that sort of story would make a good bith of weird erotic sci-fi.
