the movie bored me immensely and I was quite willing to walk out on it, but i stayed.
Thou, there was one quote that stuck with me, and it was when the asian guy said - "their dreams where real and the “real” world was a dream to them, and who had the right to tell them otherwise. ...

Overrated movie, Leo was not convincing enough, and the plot was too busy to engage. At first glance it gives the impression of something clever, but as the movie goes along, it becomes clear it's just a bunch of incoherent drivel.

I'm in agreement with this assessment. I need to watch it again, because I'm sure there were internal inconsistencies.

I have never been a fan of movies that take place in dreams because they are never how dreams really are. NOBODY dreams like that.
I love Nolan, love his style, his use of the camera, the way he can tell complex multi-layered stories but I do not like Inception. I can appreciate that it's well made but that's it.

If you liked Inception you'd love the film Nolan ripped off.
Paprika by Satoshi Kon, IMO the crowning achievement of one of the best directors Japan has ever produced.

That film is joy in a bottle.

On the plus side the release of Inception put the kibosh on a planned live-action american version of Paprika which would have been an abomination.
