Arylia rattled down the slide and crashed to the stone floor with a graceless thud. Her short sword clanged loudly as it bounced down beside her; by some miracle, her tin oil lantern bounced off her and landed upright, the flame dancing wildly for a moment but not extinguished.
She had been exploring the ruins of the old Sandstone Tower near her village -- old legends said that there was treasure hidden somewhere inside. Wiser heads said that it was a hideout for goblins or worse, but with a battered second-hand set of leather armor and an old shortsword, Arylia had felt ready for anything.
Now she was having second thoughts. Picking her bruised body gingerly up off the floor, she glanced around at the chamber illuminated by the bright tin lantern. It was square, of stout stone construction, set with two oak doors on either side. The room smelled different -- much different, damp and musty, as if a long, long way underground with somewhat stale air.
With a sudden suspicion she picked up the lantern and raised it towards the slide. She had stepped on a floor trap in the Sandstone Tower, certainly, but... no, she didn't misremember. There had been a blue flash as she fell.
The slide extended about six feet up from the ceiling, but ended there -- it had no top. A teleportation trap.
So where was she now?
