Have a nice day. :cathappy:

Don't even talk like that. I just traveled to VA from FL and back -- and we got excited when we found gas for 2.79 (regular). It was between 2.95 and 3.00 (regular) most everywhere else.

Feels like Europse or somethin'...there just aren't other choices around anymore...we've let our train system go to hell, that's for sure.

Actually taking into account converting metric to English, in Norway prices are as high as $6.20/gallon.

The last time I bought gas I paid $2.999 per gallon, which includes sales tax at 7.75%. Later, I did some calculating and I believe the state makes more out of that amount than OPEC, the oil company or anybody else. The US government makes a big chunk too.

does anyone here remember:

buying gas on even/odd days

gas stations without gas

long lines at the pump

gas shortage and horridly over inflated prices....
does anyone smell a depression coming on?
hrm.

*hysterical laughter*..............you guys don't have the slightest idea. I'd be happy to pay twice what you pay for petrol, it would still be wayyyyyy cheaper than over here. Almost £1 a litre now, that's £6 a gallon........around $10 in your money.

yes but...
we dont live where its hard to get 'petrol' delivered.
blasted rocky coast lines and funky chanels.. :p

(addendum: the above said tongue in cheek. i really have no idea why you have to pay so much more)

Nor do I.
I just reread an article on BBC website, dated August last year, when prices hit 90p a litre for the first time, and the prediction by politicians that as supply increased the price would go down. Well, it did, for a while, it dropped back to 80ishp.....but now its up to up to 97p a litre in some places, possibly higher.

Read this, maybe it can explain it. Personally I still think huge government taxes have something to do with it.

I wasn't driving then, but I certainly remember.

You mean last year? :)
Course my experience with that kind of thing is totally hurricane jaded. I remember miles long lines to get gas and the radio stations announcing that no one else should stop because they were about to run out. I remember watching the gas tank and wondering how far it would be till we found gas. Ah, such memories.
