Well, I'm currently planning a project to produce an adult sitcom. Think the urban sophistication of Sex in the City, set in LA, and with hardcore sex(though a little less explicitly shot than most porn). It will be as dirty (anal, jizz, etc.) but im trying to appeal more to a female market. Not trying to reinvent the wheel, just warp it to accommodate the female perspective a bit more. Also thinking of maybe using the theme that the main character, Pascha Vive, is a daydreamer (ala Alley Mcbeal) who is a complete slut at heart, yet somewhat more reserved on the outside. Just brainstorming at this point, but am shooting stock footage, and have all the equipment to begin production.

I guess im not sure what Im looking for!?! Im hoping to need the service of a writer for weekly episodes at some point, but for now only monthly. I mean, I want to hear your ideas, but I also want to show Im legit, and am serious about this. The truth is, I cant really pay a bunch of people to write an initial script and determine who I like best. Yet, Im not sure how appropriate it is to ask you all to submit original work with nothing in return!?! Any ideas? On either this issue or for the show? Would love to hear!

a question and a suggestion.

-do you want an american woman? (as opposed to any other nationality I mean)

-have you considered looking through the stories of some of the authors on this site (specifically the ones who post in the AH since most of the best hang out here) and talking to them specifically? It might be a fairer approach than getting people work up the nerve to volunteer and then being turned down for whatever reason because they're not what you had in mind.

ps- you'd do worse than make an exception in Slyc's case, by the way... A lot of authors on this site can write very well from both male and female perspectives, so don't assume only female writers can write female characters...

Okay, here's the thing- If I read you right, you want to do a cross between Ally McBeal and sex In The City as porn, right? Call a spade a spade, please. And you want it to be as nasty as possible, but appeal to women?

This is going to be a tough sell. You need to not only hire someone who can write a very good and realistic dream sequence in dialogue, but also fill it out visually, if you don't have the vision to do it yourself. And, for all that we laughingly joke about writing "porn" most of us here in the AH are actively erotica writers, not pornographers.

I think that honestly, you'd be better off to BUY a story from someone at a VERY fair rate, and then have it converted to script. Slyc would be a good choice.

I don't think you'll manage to appeal to the majority of the females, though, as a general rule, our imaginations are better than anything a TV can give us. That's why we prefer to read (statisically speaking).

WOW!!! Did not expect that kind of response! I guess I kind of had it coming though... I really am serious about what im trying to do. And its not exactly like either sitcoms you mentioned, just a small element of either the feel or even just the cinematography. I want really suggesting the characters or even theme should follow either. I guess I was kinda hinting to some things I wanted to try, without really saying it. My fault. I guess I was really waiting to see if their were any serious inquiries, then I would go into more detail. Maybe I took the wrong approach to finding what Im looking for...
I have read alot of the writing on this site, and have found some talented people. I have not, however, seen anything that really resembles what Im thinking. No disrespect intended, but Slyc's writing was a little more porn than Im looking for. I thought I mentioned I was going more for the Implicit, which I find to much more erotic, than explicit, in-your-face sex. I am really trying to add really hot and dirty sex, in a little less explicit way (using better writing and hopefully better directing, if i can pull it off. Maybe Im crazy, but its something i want to try. I guess I felt the sitcom format might be a little more appealing to women and men who want a little more than gonzo, but feel a little ridiculous watching some of the feature length stuff that people put out. I didnt think it was that far of a stretch?
Apparently, some on here are too skeptical to give a serious person the chance to explain himself a little better, before writing him off as perv just trying to get laid.

Just read you sig and couldnt help but think: Nobody asked you for advice, yet you are here giving me a hard time? My post was for people who were interested in collaborating, not for a critique of my idea.
And, for the record, you are way off on what the idea is. You might be more intrigued if you gave me a little more of a chance. You have to understand, some have a difficult time articulating their ideas with words. Thats why im here, to find someone who has a way with words. I prefer to use pictures to express myself. I realize what Ive said so far comes off as cheesey, but I assure you that im not as clueless as it may seem. I really feel that this could become something that could reach further into the female market. Maybe not all of them, but maybe a few? I just think its common sense to use a woman if you want to appeal to women! Is it that obsurd?

I think you lost legitmacy when a writer, and a good one at that, responded to your offer, and you declined his offer based on his sex. You then modified your request to a female writer. Doesn't sound like a legitimate offer to me.

Insulting as a group and referring to our collective work as run of the mill smut stories is sure fired way to win you a lot of friends around here.

Not me. I don't make a dime from my writing, and that's the way I prefer it. I just write for the enjoyment of writing.
