we have Tony Blair, British Heavyweight Champion and World Heavyweight Contender and in the Right corner we have Ian Duncan Smith, British Heavyweight contender...

And in the middle we have a 98 year old woman who has found her 15 minutes of fame throught the good offices of her family and a spokesman of the Whittington Hospital in North London.

A sure sign that Blair has lost his touch, when he gets dragged into an argument of such minor political importance which has been spinned into a major issue, that the pundits are even now saying it will be the lynch-pin on whether Labour will win or lose the next election.

Stay home Tony, Bush is a big boy now, let him handle his own problems...

Yep. Trouble is a brewing for Tony back on the home front. All media built of course...

Of course!

If you want to see today's (Friday) Times on the "crisis" click on this link. It's the second story down...

Of course.Anyone can see,no truth here at all.

The story is now out of our hands.

It is running free and easy on the tracks of political point scoring...

Tony should back away and let that Right Wing excuse for a stronger Britain bluster and blather until the cows come home...

Let lesser mortals puncture the holes in Duncan Smith's skin...

:)

Another example, all you goor readers, of why p_p_ and Todd spend so much time on American Politics.

I've only seen Blair once or twice and only heard one of his speeches...

But I'm pretty sure he voted Democrat in Florida...

.....a 98 year old woman whose daughter didn't turn up for 2 days - methinks guilt started this row.

I liked it when Blair tried to chew off the old lady's ear.......

:D

Spot on!

I'm glad someone else has picked up on that...

And now, of course, the family want to pull away from the matter as fast as their little legs can carry them.

...they are not the only ones - the hospital are getting kinda worried and backtracking - I mean they only inferred that that dear old lady was a racist......

I'm just surprised that...

Tony Blair, a seasoned campaigner and politician, should allow himsel to fall into such an obvious trap.

There's no cast iron rule which says because the Leader of the Opposition raises a point, he has to be answered by the Prime Minister.

Blair should have left it to his Ministers to deal with and left well alone.

Now, of course he's getting embroiled in a potential mess.

I agree..

...however to my mind IDS is the one who looks a complete prick in all this - did you see his speech!!! and then his press conference '...someone has to look after the interests of the general public...' (ho, ho - like you really care!!!)

Yeah that was hysterical...

I'm glad to see the Tories are still running to form...

:D

I'm very pleased to see that KIDS and SAPS are
still going strong.

Kids-Kick Ian Duncan Smith
Saps-Socialist Appreciation Society.

How can you have a KIDS? He's only supported one major political point scoring issue. This is it.

To be lionised in the name of an organisation designed to denigrate you I always thought you had to make at least two major fuck ups.

Duncan Smith will probably never make another. He'll just stay stumpf!

My worry now is who the Tories are going to elect as their next leader...

Ho hum!

:D

I think both Blair and IDs are just showing what a pair of arseholes they both are.

Hasn't IDS ever heard the old adage, 'when you're in a hole - stop digging'.

And just why did Blair change the habit of a lifetime and actually answer a direct question?

Spin doctors on both sides saw, what they thought was a good opportunity. Neither side foresaw the enormity of the row that has now errupted. Neither side has the ability, nor the will, to back off and let it die.

I'm sure W Bush would give Tony a job if he got voted out. Create a special Terrorism Ambassador position. Tony could even apply for citizenship and pay less tax. Of course he'd lose his free medical care.

Precisely.

But I have to admire the deft way he's slowly turning IDS into a nurse and doctor basher.

Not the impression Duncan Smith wanted at all...

You gotta admire Old Tone, crafty devil.

After watching his speech on TV today I take back what I said earlier, that he may be losing his touch.

He's still got it. Now if he can forget Bush for a while...

:D

Come on peeps, let's have a volunteer.

I think there's as much chance of him voting for IDS!

:D :D

mig I reckon the only bloke who would give them a fighting chance at the next election is Kenneth Clarke.

But as they've already rejected him they'll just have to get used to a few more years in the wilderness.
