I recently posted a story and it hasn't gotten a very good response, but I'm not getting any feedback telling me why that is. Is anyone interested in reading through it and giving me some honest, constructive feedback?

I realize it's too late to make any changes, but if I ever decide to write a sequel at least I'll know what to avoid (and maybe who to ask to be my editor.)

Thanks!

This is pretty much the board to try to find an editor before posting a story. You'd be more likely to get a response posting this to the "Story Feedback" board.

I posted this message on that board, but I wanted to be sure to get feedback specifically from editors so I put it here too.

Your paragraphs are consistantly big and you could have a pinch better grammar, but you're a good set of shoulders above the common story in storytelling and writing ability.

One thing I would consider is having a supporting character for the protagonist such that she's not thinking to herself all the time; the audience gets to read some dialogue instead of reading her thoughts the entire time.

As an erotic story goes, it was rather dry. While it was nice to read, I didn't feel like there was any sex to look forward to.

Still nice to read, though.

You can make changes. Do the corrections/fixes you want and submit the new copy with this title . . . Love Unrequited - Edit. Mention in the note box that it's an edit too. If I remember right, it still takes about 3-5 days for the corrected version to go up. But it's not too late to make your changes.
