In our lifetime

Thursday, 4th May,
at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00 in the morning,
the time and date will be 01:02:03 04/05/06.

That won't ever happen again in our lifetime
In fact it will be approx. 400 generations before it happens again.

Which got me thinkin. What else has/ is happening or will happen in our lifetime that has never/ has not/ will never happen again? Or at least not for a very long time.

USA got attacked in their own back yard?

I was a fireman when the date and time were 12:34 5/6/78, and I was around for 3:45, 6/7/89, too. I think these things recur every century, don't they? 400 generations seems a bit strong.

All of these times ignore the hundreds and thousands of years.

If you include them, then there hasn't been a 1234 date since AD 90.

12:34:56 7/8/90 but I doubt that anyone measured seconds that accurately then.

Then that assumes that you are using the Christian calendar. Other calendars with different start dates are in current use around the world.

What about 02:03:04 05/06/07 - that's worth celebrating!

Actually the date you have posted is April, not May. The even was widely discussed a month ago on the web.

that depends on how you format the date. in europe they put the month in the middle and the day at the beginning. so for our european brethern this is correct.

for us in america it happened last month. so in 400 generations it will happen again, twice.

;)

Maybe not in our lifetime (although that would be quite possible with some our younger members) but ten thousand years? Merely one hundred surely.

That's every sixty years or so.

(and this time it was capitalism that was attacked rather than the U .S)

I don't count Pearl Harbor, only the mainland.

Rhetorically, the US is being attacked all the damn time. People are always saying this or that policy or idea attacks America. Flag-burning. Failing to kiss ass. ZOG. Sweating in a strawberry field in California for hardly a dime. Voting for Nader. Anything.

I am finding it fascinating to have lived through the period surrounding the turn of the millenium (in this calendar, at least). Jonestown/Heaven's Gate sort of stuff, apocalyptic fears and weird cultic beliefs.
