"In MY porn, people fuck."

The real problem here is the use of the word pornography. It's just inapplicable. If they would have called it wish fulfillment or fantasy there would have been nothing to make fun of.

Wait wait wait... back it up just a minute there... women can actually read?

j/k

:D

In my porn, in most of my stories, fucking is assumed, implied, hinted at, but rarely described.

***
Fetishes are described, detailed and celebrated.

***

There is always a story, never just a scene or an episode of coupling.

***

Sometimes my stories are very short, as short as fifty words; sometimes my stories are very long, as long as eight Lit pages.

Og

I enjoy your writings. They seem to be more on the literature side than the pornography side, but sometimes I have need for real reading and not just stroking.

Well the truth is, there always has been a not so subtle undertone in popular culture that a woman's place is in the kitchen, whether she fucks or not - in fact, at various times, it's been illegal for a wife to turn her husband down, i.e., she will fuck whether she's in the mood or not, or be accused of alienation of affection - which some women think is hot and call submissiveness, others think is a crock of shit, and so we have gradually evolved a system where sex is negotiable rather than compulsory.

In this system however, two scientific fact are evident: men in general still think doing housework is demeaning, but guys who do share in the housework get laid a lot more often.

Go figure.

That's what these women are saying as well.

Only, they are employing a word that some of the rest of us have other plans for. When sex IS negotiable not compulsory, 'Porn" can be what it is... or something like that

XKCD created this strip;

"Women get turned on by men doing the housework for them", it's funny, I get the joke. And when the Guitar Center catalog shows up, I drop it in my partner's lap, saying; "Porn for you, sweets!"

But I think actively marketing that joke... well, it's problematic.

I am ALL for wish-fulfillment fantasies. I harbor many of those, as do we all. But to call them "porn" does no one any good. It implies that women *sigh* don't care much about sex. Or that we don't know the difference between a clean kitchen and a screaming orgasm. We Do know-- just hope not to have to make a choice between them...

My initial reaction to the strip was that the person who wrote it didn't really didn't get it. After reading your provided links, I'm not so sure. I will have to read the book, AND I WILL - lol - it seems interesting for my professional purposes. Thanks for the link, Stell.

You may be wondering why I had a different reaction to the strip than others on this thread. Well, you have to understand that all I do all day long is write about porn and the strip reminded me of many a resentful, angry man with a fantasy left unfulfilled by purchasing a membership to any CFNM site. CFNM (clothed female nude male) is a niche of the most unfortunate niches. It's often equated with, and mislabelled as, "porn for women". It is ultimately a niche that belongs in the realm of D/s. It's about domestic servitude and humiliation. What better way for a housewife to fantasize about her power than to fantasize about CFNM. We all accept that many a powerful man fantasizes about being dominated, why should we make fun of or deny the same fantasy to a woman in power of her own household, and ultimately her own desires?

Charley, I don't think CFNM is what these women had in mind at all!

For one thing all these men are wearing clothes. :D

Is "bachelorette" another word for Spinster ?

It's a 1930s, perhaps 1940s, term for single women. It's as dated as most other slang of that era.

Back on topic. In my teens and early twenties I found that the best way to meet women was to join a club or society and help out in the kitchen, making coffee, washing up etc. I got to talk to women as people.

In the swinging 1960s I used to help out, unpaid, in the kitchen of a famous folk venue in London. Not only did I meet an interesting group of women, but I met most of the performers who went to the kitchen to scrounge food and drink (and meet women). Apart from The Beatles, who didn't go there, I met almost everyone in the British 1960s pop scene - and their girlfriends/boyfriends.

But somehow I just don't see you as a male groupie, Ogg. :D

It's officially enshrined as trope - or fantasy catergory, whatever you want to call it - for instance...

I know Stella, I was just trying to extend the discussion, give it a bit of gas. *giggles*
