...we celebrate winter and the holidays around the birth of Christ with a big snowman called Monsieur Bonhomme or Bonhomme Carnival depending on where in Canada you live.

American Christmas with the Coca Cola Santa is soooo commercial! Santa has become popular in Canada because of US media here, but Bonhomme is still our thing in most of Canada.

Bonhomme says: "Happy Holidays!"

Don't confuse the world. They have enough misconceptions about us LOL.

BonHomme is the representative of Carnival, a winter holiday in Quebec, that is usually held in Feb. Santa is alive and well in Canada.

And On The Day After Christmas...

....we all go outside to have peeing contests into buckets hung from tress.

It's called Boxing Day because that was the day we used to have our bare-fisted outdoor fights, but it got replaced by Whizzfestival maybe thirty years ago.

Whizzfestival......ahhh the memories....Now ladies watch those metal buckets in the freezing cold....;)

Mass Transit

During the holidays, extra tractors are put on the transit routes in our major cities to handle the rush to see Bonhomme.

And when we're done we distill it down and sell it to the Americans!

And It Wouldn't Be Christmas Without Mummering.

I don't think mummering on Christmas Eve is so popular in the USA, is it? Getting drunk and dressing up to kick down stranger's doors is a blast!

So that's why Canadian beer tastes like piss.

What charming customs!

Seems I've heard Nebraska has something like that.

And as you can see, the ladies get positively giddy about pissing in buckets out of doors!

After they start dropping trou in the snow, well, as you might guess...most anything can happen! Like swimming!

And Lobster Hunting On Christmas Day? Fun!

They're wily birds, so you need to keep a good eye out!

That happens here too. Some people fall off the tractor in the subways though because it's so dark in there.

Hello Jenny,

Are you enjoying Nebraska? Are you getting a windy white Christmas? A bit chillier than NYC eh? Well worth the change in locations though I imagine. Hope you have a nice Christmas.

I'm really loving it here (in many ways!);)

Until recently, however, NYC was colder and snowier than we've experienced! No white Xmas here this year, but temps are staying chilly!

Have a wonderful holiday, LTGR:rose:

Happy Holidays, Jenny!

Are you the ones that go Mummering on Christmas Eve?

Or is that Utah?
