I love Lie Nielson's tools but they cost so much I'd be afraid of using them. Lee Valley is much more in my budget. Our local college has a "Intro to Hand Tools" class. Most students have to spend around $2-300 for the tools--except for the purists and cognoscenti. They buy Lie Nielson's and spend over a grand!
Bought a gorgeous adjustable mouth block plane and a couple sundries. Escaped for under 2 bills.
SW, I used to live in migraine city but they went away as I got older. Hope you're better now.

L-N makes the most gorgeous planes. Fortunately, I am a complete pragmatist when it comes to woodworking and the majority of my money goes into top of the line power tools. I just recently bought an Austrian jointer/planer combination machine with a 12" capacity. I could have bought a lot of L-N planes for what I spent but it's so much faster and more accurate than I'll ever be. Long live the Austrian machine tool world.
