The OP is a silly, lazy ad hominem attack. It's also a straw man argument.

There are many people who are concerned about "wokeness" who are not MAGA. There are liberal university professors who've been pilloried and had classes cancelled because they dared to contradict, even in a small way, woke ideology. Evolutionary biology professor Carol Hooven from Harvard, for example, who taught a class and wrote a book on the subject of Testosterone and said things about its impact on sexual identity and characteristics that angered the woke police. It got so bad she stopped teaching the class -- and she's an expert in the subject, unlike those criticizing her.

I think of "woke" as two things. One, it's a collection of concepts and ideas about social injustices that focuses on group identity and abstractions: white privilege, white supremacy, cultural misappropriation, the patriarchy, intersectionality, rape culture, reparations for slavery, something that ended 150 years ago. This perspective is more concerned with "equity" -- whatever that means -- than equal treatment. It sees you for the group it thinks you belong to rather than as an individual.

Woke is also an attitude, a way of behaving, a set of rhetorical strategies. The resort to ad hominem attacks is a big part of that, as evident in this thread. Cancel culture. The call for safe spaces. The idea that you cannot offend anyone. Virtue signaling. Getting people fired for saying the wrong thing. Using inflammatory and shaming rhetoric to try to shift and narrow the Overton window. The increasingly illiberal attitude toward robust free speech and the concept that people should be free to say what they want without being fired or prosecuted. The denial that "wokeness" exists -- an odd claim, considering that the term "woke," like the term "politically correct" before it, initially was used by those who identified with it. Now they deny the existence of the thing they invented and named.

It's clearly SOMETHING. It's there. It's reasonably definable and it's pretty easy to see when somebody says things or acts in a "woke" way. So if we're not going to call it "woke," what do we call it? To me, it's seems like as useful and accurate a term as any.

I didn't vote for Trump either. Never will, never would. He's a racist, sexist criminal who tried to overthrow a valid election. Even today, when asked, he won't promise to abide by the Constitution--his single most important duty.

But I'll say this: I think his two victories happened in part because so many people are fed up with wokeness. And it's not because they're racist. Well, some of them are. But many are fed up with the aspects of wokeness that I highlighted above. They see wokeness, as I do, as an assault on intellectual integrity, clear and evidence-based thinking, and liberal values.
