So back to sex talk..lol. My Sir is soooo amazing that I got one of my migraine orgasms..he felt really bad, but I told him that I only get them if I have a really, really, intense orgasm.. I had the most amazing weekend!

I get them occasionally, too. I think pretty much anything can trigger a migraine. It SUCKS!!!!!!

It's called Orgasmic coital cephalgia. It's not really a big deal. Not dangerous or anything. I've had a CAT scan and a spinal tap to be sure. Basically it's more a pain than anything. The Doctor's told me that they are not sure what causes them, and they don't know how to prevent them. I don't have them that often, but I've only had them with really intense orgasms.

I have them also. Every few months I will get them with every orgasm for a week. I was prescribed propranolol and it does help. They is literature to back up the use of low dose propranolol for this..just an FYI

Well, since I have sex one way or another at least once a day I can't really plan it like that. I haven't figured out if it is hormonal, stress or allergy related or none of the above but it does go in cycles (not regular ones though) If I start having problems with 3 days or so of headaches then I go on it for about two weeks then wean myself off and see what happens. I am a pharmacist so my doctor trusts me to be able to titrate my dosage to my needs.

i take nadolol every day for my migrianes. it the same family of drugs.

He was probably thinking of Indocin (indomethacin) . it causes severe orthostatic hypotension in me so I can't take it. If you do a search there is good literature on the use of propranolol, plus it's cheap. If you have any problems finding info let me know and I'll find some for you.
