This is not a BDSM thread, but I will post it both here and in the Cafe section.

There are certain posters on this board, I being one of them, who have had our names copied so closely it's almost impossible to tell who is who by looking at the name.

However, looking at the post count and title is a way to be aware of who you're talking to.

Please, don't PM me unless you're sure it's me (been here over a year, have over 10,000 posts). My copycat has jsut over 100 posts at the moment, and a picture of me in his/her avatar.

Please, if you're not sure, don't PM me, I don't want my personal info going to other people.

Other names that have been copied are:

(that are almost indescernable)
and

LadyGuenivire

etc. Just take a look at post counts before you take to heart what people say, nowadays.

PS. It seems like there should be a complaint procedure where the similarity is great and intended to mess things up. OTOH, with labels like Sexy Girl-- Sexy Babe; Sexxxy, Sexy Grrrl, I don't see any way to decide on an 'original'.

Maybe as frustrating as this is, it can be given a bit of a positive shot similar to reclaiming derogatory words for minorities. In art they say theft is the ultimate compliment and form of flattery.....perhaps those that steal handles with ulterior motives should reflect on this and find a way to create something of thier own worth stealing.

My concern isn't that someone spoofed my name, it's that someone spoofed it so closely that I have had people who almost and some who actually DID pm my spoofer thinking it was me. What if personal info had been in those PM's? That bothers me.
