I had to work outside on some equipment. I would put up a piece of plywood on some cement blocks to shade the tools so they were not too hot to pick up! One time I reached under to get a wrench and a scorpion ran out! Fun times!
I've worked in similar heat but muggy. Worst critters I had to deal with were the 2"+ cockroaches that tried to get EVERYwhere. Years later found a dead one in a computer from that site several states away - it had been kept in locked rooms the week it was there, and this bugger STILL found its way in. *headshake*
