Don’t worry. It’ll all get worse. Once implants or the like happen, they’;l never turn em off. Good and bad in that, same as with every tech change we humans have been thru.

Not saying there won’t be downsides - there will be- but just that it’ll be changed, and at least some of the changes could be better

Then a headband or hat. There’re already hats that act like EEGs, and room-sized fMRI devices which have shown short term memories being formed. Other work’s been done & continues to improve on other bits, like reading humans’ optical cortex - the device can register what you see. None of these are done yet, not by far, but something that can read & respond to your brain - without surgery! - is coming. Be a while yet unless some genius makes some big breakthroughs, but IMO it’s coming.

It’ll be different. Implants will be better than wearables in some ways & worse in others, just by the nature of the different use cases. Wearables are gonna be a lot easier to upgrade, probably, and implants might be more precise? Waaaaay too early to tell!

Dunno about Tesla, but there are TMS devices - transcranial magnetic stimulation, really precise magnetic fields - used medically to affect brains today without implants. Sit in the chair, pull down a chunky helmet, and minutes later go home. Repeat daily for a couple weeks or months and some mental illnesses - some depressions, anxiety, & others - can go away.
