Impeachment Thread

What part of "while in office" don't you understand. And what part of "I DIDN'T SANCTION EITHER"!!!! Morality is not a strong suit with either. Keep up with the class!
In or out of office is not the point ,it's the fact that you stressed Clinton offences over Trumps .
They are both pieces of shit in their relationships with women ,but as far as we know Trump is the only one who has to pay for sex .

Power is the only aphrodisiac stronger than money.

Bill was paying, just used a different coin.

Clinton was in office. Shouldn’t the leader of the free world exhibit self control and lead by example while in office. We don’t know if Clinton paid For sex, Epstein is dead, after all he took several trips on the Lolita Express.

Good God.

He want to know if the Bidens had been involved with subverting the 2016 elections?

No. He wanted Zelensky to say they had been thusly involved, evidence to the contrary be damned. And even if your characterisation were correct, that's no excuse for withholding aid as he did.

Point out what was wrong with pausing aid. That aid would not have gotten there till sometime during the 2020 time frame anyway. The pause was a spending one. I’m almost certain they had Javelin weapon systems deployed. Pausing to assure corruption is being dealt with is prudent.

Seriously? And you claim to hold no water for trump! You're holding enough water that you should be shipped to California as a reservoir to be used in the fight against wild fires.

If you genuinely believe what you're posting then you are both deluded and 1i'd.

It is if there's any evidence of corruption. But there wasn't, and still isn't, any in this case. And even if there were, that's really not a fair characterisation of what Trump did. He asked Zelensky to look not for corruption, but specifically for some evidence that Hunter Biden was involved in corruption. And there was absolutely no reason to think there was any.

And he and his buddies are up to their necks in corruption in this, which started months before the infamous telephone call. One of Trump's bestest buddies got convicted on all counts for this sort of behavior just today. That makes six of Trump's closest cohorts so far. The board Trumpettes have nothing to offset this disgusting Trumpian behavior.

So, let's take all of that away from him--as a lesson to all of those creeping out of the woodwork who are just like him.

That's good advice. Trump isn't the only lawbreaker out there. Trey Gowdy, Devin Nunes, Rudy Giuliani, Mitch McConnell, Steve Miller, Roger Stone, Elaine Chao and others are skulking around, obstructing justice, tampering with evidence, tampering with witnesses, intimidating witnesses, lying to Congress, lying to the FBI as well as other crimes.

Sending Trump to prison might serve as a lesson to other malefactors that they aren't above the law.

Did you notice? This was the week they gave up.

The House Republicans defending Trump against the inquiry into his possible impeachment gave up defending him on the merits. All of their complaints centered around the process, even though the process is being conducted according to RULES THAT REPUBLICANS ESTABLISHED when they were engaging in public theatrics about Benghazi and Hillary Clinton.

During her testimony to Congress, former ambassador to the Ukraine Marie Yovonovitch alternated between sobbing uncontrollably and screaming accusations of political bias at her interrogators.

WAIT! SORRY! That was Brett Kavanaugh!! Yovanovitch was cool as a cucumber!!!

Marie Yovanovitch is a badass. She’s not a coward like Mick Mulvaney or Rudy Giuliani.

Marie Yovanovitch received a standing ovation following her public testimony in Donald Trump’s impeachment inquiry, in which the ousted ambassador to Ukraine was attacked by the president in a series of controversial tweets.

The audience stood and cheered for the career diplomat as House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff ordered the meeting to a close, marking a rare moment in American politics. Citizens who sit in on congressional hearings are typically instructed to remain silent and respect decorum by abstaining from any audible outbursts.

I don't hold water for Trump! I try to objectively evaluate both sides of the argument. I'm a strong proponent of { you do the crime you do the time } The president of Ukraine admitted several times to several media outlets that he was not pressured, there was no "Quid".

Being a new president and judging from his internal initiatives you have to give his statements the benefit of the doubt.

The Biden issue is a big deal. The Manafort issue, the black leger, CrowdStrike and the refusal of the DNC to relinquish their servers to the FBI and the Mueller investigating team for further scrutiny is suspect. It all ties in to the inappropriate use of surveillance and FISA warrants to surveille american citizens.

I'm not going to write about it in length any more, but if it's found that the steele dossier was a prefabricated ploy bought and paid for by the DNC and used by the NSA through corrupt individuals in the Ukraine to get dirt on Manafort to implicate Trump, it should concern us all.

Obama in the past has had an affinity to use his spy agency to spy on americans ( AP news agency, conversations of members of congress, James Rosen ) to name a few.

Durham changing an administrative review to a criminal investigation and Horowitz strongly suggesting to the DOJ Comey should be a subject for a criminal referral is a big deal. If Comey and Strzok defrauded the FISC then the Mueller report becomes the fruit of the poison tree and possibly unconstitutional. A Biden, Ukraine investigation has the potential to produce exculpatory evidence as well as proving that Comey and Strzok were involved with spoliation of evidence by not including exculpatory evidence and defrauding the FISA courts.

Jovanovic I believe was unfairly treated and had no reason being involved in the impeachment clusterfuck. I believe scumbag Schiff used Jovanovic to inject an emotional effect for american consumption and it backfired. Had there been no cameras at the hearing I'd be willing to bet Jovanovic would not have testified.

She should have been revered for 33 years of Foreign service, I do! Should have been recalled in a dignified manner towards her. I'm glad she was afforded a fellowship position at Georgetown University, I believe she deserves it. Trump can be a classless dork. I think both sides did treat her with respect during the hearings.

The Obama admin coaching her up on how to handle senate questions of Biden's involvement with Barisma indicates even Obama was concerned about the Bidens. This tidbit was the only thing of value that came from the hearings.

Three posts in three years and all since the Impeachment hearings.

Sounds like the left is getting nervous

Jovanovic was not accused of a crime, Kavanaugh was! No cerebral capacity just blind TDS.

TDS for sure, but accounts that wake up after years and post like old hands on a single minded topic sounds more like someone thought their side needed more "voices".

What do you expect them to do? The Democrats have wanted to impeach President Trump ever since that night (November 8, 2016) when he defeated Hillary Clinton in that exciting/startling election upset!

When the Democrats captured the House of Representatives in the 2018 midterms, it became a certainty that Trump would be impeached, now that they had the necessary votes - all the Democrats required was an excuse! They THOUGHT that Robert Mueller would provide that excuse with his Trump/Russia collusion investigation, but when his report finally came out there wasn't anything there. And so Adam Schiff (who had insisted right from the start that he KNEW that Russia collusion was real), suddenly switch gears and went after this Ukraine phone call instead.

The PROBLEM plaguing the Democratic Party lies in the U.S. Senate. In those same 2018 midterms that the Dems won the House, they LOST a net two seats in the U.S. Senate, which is the governing body that will vote on whether or not the president is guity of the charges brought forth by the House Democrats! The Republicans already controlled that legislative branch, but after 2018 they increased their majority, making impeachment dead-on-arrival once it finally reaches there!

So instead the Democrats are hoping that impeachment somehow damages President Trump's re-election efforts, despite the fact that once they lose their fight in the U.S. Senate there will almost certainly be a BACKLASH against their party for unsuccessfully dragging our nation through this partisan coup-attempt!

Quoted for LOLs.

As former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch testified about the successful smear campaign engineered against her by Trump allies and explained how intimidating it was to learn that Trump told the president of Ukraine that she was "bad news" and is "going to go through some things," Trump decided she didn't feel quite intimidated enough. So he tweeted more smears against her while she was testifying.

Whether this is technically witness tampering, it's undeniably appalling. Even on Fox News, Ken Starr called Trump's attack on Yovanovitch during her testimony "extraordinarily poor judgment."

What it shows - as does all of the former ambassador's testimony, along with lots of other evidence we have seen - is that Trump has been running a thugocracy, one in which the president talks and acts like a Mafiosi and so do the people who have the greatest influence over him.

What we're also seeing is that the people who understand Trump knew exactly how to manipulate him. Knowing that he values personal loyalty far more than competence or the interests of the United States, all they had to do was keep telling him that Yovanovitch wasn't loyal to him, and she'd be gone.

"How could our system fail like this?" Yovanovitch asked in her opening statement Friday. "How is it that foreign corrupt interests could manipulate our government?"

Thought she didn't say it herself, the answer is two words: Donald Trump.

Corrupt interests (some foreign, some domestic) could manipulate our government because the president is himself corrupt. And insecure, and vindictive and someone who talks and acts like he's running an organized crime family.

Stunningly, as Yovanovitch was calmly explaining how all this happened, Trump let everyone know what a thug he is, trying to intimidate her one more time. It's probably too late for that, though; all he did was remind everyone who he is.

Jesus Ateo writes: "Whether this is technically witness tampering, it's undeniably appalling."

How exactly is this "witness tampering?" The House Democrats are seemingly trying to turn Marie Yovanovitch into the 2019 version of Dr. Christine Blasey-Ford, without Doctor Ford's little girl voice! She was an ambassador serving at the pleasure of the president, and he fired her! And now she's UPSET about it?

"... Trump has been running a thugocracy, one in which the president talks and acts like a Mafiosi..."

President Obama fired ambassadors, as well. How exactly did you feel about Barack's "thugocracy?"

""How could our system fail like this?" Yovanovitch asked in her opening statement Friday. "How is it that foreign corrupt interests could manipulate our government?" Thought she didn't say it herself, the answer is two words: Donald Trump."

"How is it that foreign corrupt interests could manipulate our government?" - Well, President Obama appointed Vice President Joe Biden to be his direct liaison to the Ukraine, just as Biden's son Hunter was being offered a lucrative business position working on the board of Burisma, a private gas producer owned by an Ukrainian oligarch known for shady, and possibly criminal, business practices.

"Stunningly, as Yovanovitch was calmly explaining how all this happened, Trump let everyone know what a thug he is, trying to intimidate her one more time."

She is easily intimidated. The Democratic Party views ALL women as easily intimidated - but ONLY if they're not conservatives or Republicans!

"It's probably too late for that, though; all he did was remind everyone who he is."

This whole impeachment inquiry is designed solely to damage President Trump's re-election campaign, as the Democrats have NO CHANCE of getting the U.S. Senate to play along with their sham/witchhunt of an impeachment. Perhaps they'll ask ambassador Marie Yovanovitch to join Christine Blasey-Ford, Megan Rapinoe, & Jussie Smollet on stage at next summer's Democratic National Convention to deliver stirring speeches against the president?
