Back in November of 2016, Russian agents showed up at my door and forced me to vote for Donald Trump! I told them that I supported Hillary Clinton for president, as she would continue the emasculated, pro-transgendered America that President Obama had built for us during his eight-years in office! But the Ruskies said that wasn't going to happen, and they twisted my arm nearly out of its socket until I relented!

They ALSO told me that President Putin wanted voter-photo-ID laws passed here in the United States, to keep Mexican illegals from crossing our southern border and participating in American democracy! Apparently, Putin sees Mexican nationals as OPPOSING Russia's agenda for this country, and so he opposes them casting ballots here!

At the same time, President Putin miscalculated regarding President Trump's support for his ally, Iran! Apparently the Russians expected Trump to ship money to the Iranian government the same way that President Obama had, and they're deeply upset that the Trump administration is instead squeezing Iran's balls with tougher economic sanctions! Perhaps in 2020 the Russians will reverse-course and help the Democrats? No... wait... that will be impossible as America doesn't have a weak, incompetent leader in the White House as we did in November of '16 who will openly permit Russian meddling.

Rudy Giuliani wants to turn President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial into a prosecution case against Joe Biden.

The president’s personal attorney told reporters at a New Year’s Eve party at Mar-A-Lago that he would like to do far more than simply testify at the Senate impeachment trial.

“I would testify, I would do demonstrations,” Giuliani said. “I’d give lectures, I’d give summations. Or, I’d do what I do best, I’d try the case. I’d love to try the case.”

“Well, I don’t know if anybody would have the courage to give me the case,” he added, “but if you give me the case, I will prosecute it as a racketeering case, which I kind of invented, anyway.”

Yeah, phrodeau - about that - impeachment means ZILCH if it doesn't lead to a trial in the U.S. Senate! The U.S. Constitution spells it out quite clearly.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi recently got intoxicated and LOST the articles of impeachment that she was supposed to forward to the senate. It's enormously embarrassing for her, as without an impeachment trial the whole thing was a huge (and expensive) waste of time!

Ultimately, an impeachment vote that never reaches the U.S. Senate means that it never happened! Both Jerry Nadler and Adam Schiff have repeatedly asked Speaker Pelosi where exactly she was when she last handled the articles, but she says she doesn't remember.

It's all very sad, as it's ultimately going to probably cost her the speakership.

In a column for the Daily Beast, longtime political analyst Eleanor Clift stated that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has the upper hand as she deals with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on the terms of how the trial of Donald Trump will be conducted.

As Clift explains, “After what Republicans like to characterize as a rush to impeachment, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is now getting grief from the GOP for slowing down the process. It’s driving President Trump and his allies a bit batty trying to figure out what she’s up to by holding back the articles of impeachment.”

As Dump tries to spin this as Nancy failing, Nancy bids her time confident that the Trumpublicans will lose their shit soon.

Seriously, Jack? You think that President Trump is going to resign the presidency just like Nixon did? I'm guessing that that's NOT about to happen anytime soon, but if you want to base your hopes on it I certainly won't stop you! We ALL need a dream, no matter how unrealistic that dream may be.

The truth is, from what I've seen in reported accounts, Nancy Pelosi had a bit too much holiday eggnog (or whatever) over the Christmas season, and the articles of impeachment she was holding onto have been temporarily misplaced! But I've also been assured that both Jerry Nadler and Adam Schiff have been with Speaker Pelosi ever day this week looking for where she may have left them, and it's only a matter of time before they succeed in locating that hidden alcove somewhere in her office, mansion, or favorite restaurant.

On the positive side, this episode has been a bit of a wake-up call for Representative Pelosi and her "over-imbibing" of holiday spirits, which has been a bit of a problem for her of late. Perhaps she will now seek the help she needs with the help of her Democrat friends.

An Economist/YouGov poll shows that impeachment doesn’t seem to be hurting Democrats the way Republicans anticipated it would.

According to the generic congressional ballot, support for Democrats has reached an all-time high at 50 percent and +10 percent over the Republican Party.

The survey was done on over 1,000 registered voters in the final days of 2019 and is the most recent indicator in the RealClearPolitics summary of polls on the generic ballot.

Trump’s document redactions on Ukraine emails are ‘puzzling and even suspicious’: Post analysis

JustSecurity released a trove of documents previously redacted by the White House that concealed the direct implication of President Donald Trump. In an analysis by Washington Post reporter Aaron Blake explained that the previous redactions were suspect.

The most damning finding in the unredacted documents was an Aug. 30 email from top OMB official Michael Duffey, who said it was “clear direction from POTUS to continue to hold” the aid to Ukraine.

Mitch McConnell ‘underestimated both Pelosi and the tolerance of the American people for Trump’s criminality’

In an op-ed for The Daily Beast this Thursday, David R. Lurie tackled the question of why “moderate” Republican lawmakers are hesitant to speak out against “Mitch McConnell’s scheme to undermine the Constitution by preventing witnesses from testifying during Donald Trump’s upcoming removal trial.” According to him, it’s because they’re scared of losing the support of their party’s loyal Trump voters.

“…if they vote to acquit [Trump] after figures like Mick Mulvaney and John Bolton further implicate the president in a scheme to undermine the next election (and an ally under attack by Vladimir Putin’s Russia), they risk losing the support of most other voters. It is a dilemma of Republicans’ own creation, and it’s becoming more excruciating every day,” Lurie writes.

Lurie then cites House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s decision to withhold articles of impeachment from the Senate unless they hold a fair trial, and the dismissive response her move invited from Senate Republicans.

Trumpublicans are in a tough spot, they have no way to exonerate Trumpski and no witnesses to testify in his defence. They have no answer to the facts that Trumpski confessed and Mick said, "Get over it".

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi got intoxicated over the Christmas/holiday season and she seemingly LOST those articles of impeachment passed by the House. Until she remembers what she did with them, there can be NO IMPEACHMENT trial, Jack!

As for a person on trial "testifying in their own defense," that's not how it works. The House indicted this president using mostly hearsay evidence that would be inadmissable in any normal trial. And if this thing ever actually goes to trial, U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts could throw it all out!

But the WORST thing facing the House's Trump-haters is that the impeachment jury has already been selected, and they were unable to get Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez or Ilhan Omar a spot on it! Instead they ended-up with a LOT of conservative Republicans who have zero-respect for Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, & Jerry Nadler! That's NOT how you win your case if you're on the prosecution!

No, I don't think so. It seems a rather straightforward action to see if the Republican's constituents will rattle the walls for the very common sense forcing of witnesses. Collins' "should have stuck with the courts" ploy is bogus. The court business is just more stonewalling and there shouldn't be a need to go to court. Administration personnel should jolly well show up to testify to Congress when called.

The really interesting development is that there's a move to add more impeachment articles. Documents are being released on FOA (many today alone) that add criminality and zero in on Trump personally. If Pelosi is purposely waiting for anything, it's probably for the impeachment articles to pile up.

Nancy Pelosi and her Democratic Party FEAR the U.S. Constitution right now, which insists that a House impeachment be followed by a trial in the U.S. Senate that the House Democrats now openly acknowledge they cannot win. Dragging this thing out for political reasons would be an open admission that the Dems were NEVER serious about removing President Trump from office for crimes they claim he committed (but can't prove!)

U.S. Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer has already signalled that he believes the House Democrats made a complete hash of it, and he now wants to do the whole thing over again in the U.S. Senate, but the problem is that Pelosi, Schiff, & Jerry Nadler have NO POWER in the upper legislative chamber, forcing Schumer to allow Mitch McConnell to set the rules for any future investigation, which NONE of the Trump-haters want to see!

Giuliani associate can hand over cell phone contents to House Democrats, judge rules

A federal judge ruled Friday that Lev Parnas, an associate of President Donald Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, can provide additional records sought by the House impeachment investigators, including the contents of his cell phone.

Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee requested records from Parnas and his business associate, Igor Fruman, in October 2019. The two men are under indictment on allegations of campaign finance violations, and both reportedly played a key roles in assisting Giuliani in his efforts to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and Ukraine. Both have pleaded not guilty.

On Monday, a lawyer for Parnas, Joseph Bondy, wrote a letter to U.S. Judge J. Paul Oetken in New York asking the court’s permission to share records obtained by the government with House investigators pursuant to the subpoena.
