Imagination or Physical Prowess?

Just a simple question I have been wondering about. When it comes to play in the bedroom (or any room for that matter) what would you say is more important, a good imagination or physical prowess? Basically, is it better to be able to think up new things in the bedroom or just to have raw power behind the normal things?

Personally, I go for imagination as that lets there always be something new to try and less chance of things going stale. Also good for coming up with punishments.

Most definitely imagination over physicality, but there is nothing wrong with having both if you must;)imagination and a desire to explore it is so much fun. After all the brain is the most important erogenous zone.

oh yes, yes yes - of course both is perfect - no harm in being greedy.
but feeding the brain! oh yes, that's what i love best about this site - fabulously titillating brain stimulating exchanges!

I have to completely agree with Switch. If you don't have a good imagination, the physical can only tak you so far.

Powerfuckin' was just great when I was 20, and my dick was bigger than my brain.;)

Gotta be imagination. You can train the body, but it's a mite harder to train the mind. I can't speak for the rest of you, but I get a bit bored doing the same things over and over. I need a bit of variety, which is where a great imagination is absolutely necessary. :)

Definitely imagination. Not that raw power isn't nice. Raw power is excellent. but it'll become pretty damned boring when it's the same thing over and over again.

I will be the oddball and say Physical Prowess. I have enough imagination for 5 people, lol, but I lack the physical capabilities to enact most of it. I need someone who can take my ideas and make them reality.

If you can turn me on through my mind then you can practically do anything you want to my body.

This is one of those 2 sides of the coin questions for me.

I NEED someone to have a good mind outside of the bedroom FIRST. So the nerdier and smarter the better if you want to tantalize me. But on the other hand, I also REALLY NEED you to be nice and strong. Please be able to fling me around on a whim, or hold me close when I am scared.

I do not so much require that your imagination is GREAT in bed, cuz don't worry. I am a dreamer and teacher so if we can do even a quarter of what's in my head that would be a lifetime. :p

No, he can't, because he lacks the physical prowess. So he can't do everything with your body - and the better his imagination, the less he can do with your body physically. That was the whole premise of the thread.

Actually, no it isn't. The purpose in the thread is not about having one over the other, but which is more important. One can have a good imagination and provide everything in bed for their partner. I was asking if it is better to have imagination for thinking of new experiences or to have power behind the normal experiences.

just an example to clarify how important imagination can be. I have had in mind blowing sex and play with a partner that was severely physically handicapped and alternatively I've had the worst dead fish fuck I've ever had with someone who looked like a Greek god and was incredibly physically fit but he didn't have sufficient imagination to choose what he wanted to eat for dinner. I think I would have had more fun with a blowup doll at least I could stuff it in the cupboard afterwards instead of having to feed it and tidy upafter it

Let me try again then for clarity sake: If you make me excited through my mind then I am more comfortable with what I will allow to happen to my body and "you can do anything .... that you wish that is also within your capabilities & won't cause permanent damage".... It doesn't sound quite as sexy that way... and considering I only have one play partner I think I must be out of the caveat habit.

I really believe in mental BDSM. I am such a nerd to begin with that the first thing I would notice about someone is their mind. If we have the type of relationship where we can turn to one another and say, I would like to try that or "Down on your knees Wench" or whatever the context maybe, so be it. Just my humble opinion...

If you rate one thing more important, then it is preferrable over the other.

Right. One over the other.

So, let's say:
a) You have a master in plain sex, but who doesn't come up with new ideas on his/her own.
b) You have someone who sucks with plain sex, but has a plethora of new ideas to try out.

Which one is better? This was basically the question, wasn't it?
