image tags HELP!!

ok...i have tried this a few times

what am i doing wrong with the tag? i want to put an image in this part of a post. this way, if someone is looking for an av, i can at least try and post a pic to help out.

what have i done wrong with this tag line?
<img src="www.webaddress.com/images/pic23.gif">

i have not done this for a while now and i forgot how to do this.

For images in the main body of your post. You need to upload it from your computer. Locate it on your drive, using the browse function, under the "post reply" box and upload it as a file.
(From where it says "Attach Files )

Or to hotlink the page, straight into your post, paste the url (http etc) between the tags [img ] [/img ]. Only with no spaces

I think the "img src" just works for the signature and location fields.

and if you just want to show it in the post instead of downloading it.. use the thing suggested above

if you are trying to put one in your sig line, there I posted the directions in step by step the other day--sorry, don't have time this am to go look it up--the search should take you to it quickly.
