Well, yes. But it's a great western. Ask anybody: it really breaks the mold as far as the genre goes. For one thing, it has a very different take on violence, I think. There's a sense of moral complexity. Though I admit, I haven't seen many other westerns, so it's hard for me to say.

Jacob's Ladder, boring? wow....I've never heard that before....i remember it being a good creepy psychological thriller....of course it has been awhile.

I don't see much typical in Unforgiven ....you wanna explain that more? I love this movie......it has outstanding characters, clever dialogue, and has none of the cheesyness that plagues the genre. The Academy seemed to think it was pretty good...
