So what happened Sparky? It's not on right now.

I guess it doesn't matter much, but it would be cool to have the probe land. It's almost out of fuel anyway, so it's either play with the asteroid or spin the probe out into space, useless.

Actually the probe only has a 1% chance to survive the 'landing' as it was never designed to land and has no landing gear. Plus, even if it lands without breaking up it does not have the ability to transmit back a usable signal. The only thing it can transmit is a beacon signal indicating it survived the landing.
