I'm thinking about going to church this weekend

You can pray as well from where you are.

True, but sometimes the warmth of people around you engaged in common prayer may feel like a necessity.

I agree Cheyenne, I went to a prayer service Tuesday night. They had a time for folks to share their thoughts. It was insightful to see how the same events effect different people is such different ways.

When you gather as a group, you have to chance to use your strengths to lift someone up while someone else helps you where you are weak. And I know its not this way in all churches but your not going to get out of my church without a hug and we can all use those right now.

*smile* I'm Jewish and I've been thinking about going to church!

Or synagogue - mosque - or the nearest house of worship of any type.

In fact... though born Jewish - I was an atheist most of my life... then came to believe in something... that isn't easily described... something BIGGER...

I believe in energy - I believe that life is energy... and energy cannot be created or destroyed - it only changes...

And we change...

The closest I've come to finding a belief system - a spirituality - that matches those views is a cross between Paganism and Quantum Physics...

So I go outside everynight and I look up at the stars and I pray to the "Goddess"... and I hope...

That's what its all about, isn't it? Hope... for things to be right again...
