Okay I'm thinking about getting a bike. I want a good one, something comfortable.

I like the looks and the comfort of the Kawasaki 450 LTD but it's not large enough. I need one large enough to get up on the Highway for at least 100 miles with my wife on the back yet small enough to be comfortable in the city.

Any ideas?

Butthead bought a bike the day before yesterday....like we needed another payment.

*sigh*

It's alright, I suppose, but I could have come up with much better ways to spend $5k.

He bought one of these, but in cream. It's not a Harley, so I don't like it:

They have a really long rake and sit really low without having to be lowered. Very comfortable.

The one I fell in love with was all tricked out and ran @32K

Here's some photos of a stock model.

Oh, that kind of bike.

I've thought of that, too, especially when the price of gas has been sky-high, but my husband always tries to talk me out of it.

(I'm still thinking about that truck).

Hey I like Harley's, but their price is out of my range. (As are the prices of the Victories and the Indians.) I would love to get my hands on somehting like a Harley but I know that I can't right now.

I like the looks of the Kawa 450 LTD but it's actually too small for what I want. (Highway Cruising as well as around town.) I know I'm needing something in the 750 class or higher.

Oh and some hints on weights, my wife weighs 136 pounds and I weigh 150.

If you're thinking about a touring bike...I will say this. Every die hard Hog owner I have met loves the Honda Goldwing as far as comfort. Personally, I don't like touring bikes. If I'm gonna go THAT far...I'd haul the bike in a covered trailer and then stop and ride. Like suppose you're gonna ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway...(great place to ride in the fall with all the colors).

I use to ride a Harley Fatboy. Liked it a lot...but the stock Deuce sits lower, has a longer rake, and is much sleeker. Plus..I like the laced wheels as opposed to the solid wheels of the Fatboy.

Cat, check out the Yamaha 1100's. Plenty of power for the two of you, comfortable on long trips if you raise the bars a couple of inches and roll em back an inch.... But that might just be me.... 40 mpg ain't bad either for under 10k new...

I've been riding the 650 for the last few years and having a ball... runs great and I've had no problems at all... In fact I might make you a great deal on mine as I want to trade up to the 1100 myself....

ETA: The 24 inch seat height makes it great for shorter people, I'm not saying you're short but Matty and few others at the Loveshack Letogether were surprised how easy they could reach the ground flat footed.

;) :D
