I'm Such a Pussy

I was thinking about Christmas movies just now, and recalled that they showed "It's a Wonderful Life" on the plane the other day, and how I must have cried three or four times during the film. I've seen the movie a billion times, but I just have to hear "To my big brother George, the richest man in town!" and I start bawling like a little girl. I had to hide my eyes so the cute Flight Attendants wouldn't go in the back by the little food carts and laugh at me over a bag of Honey Roasted Peanuts.

What movie scene makes you weep, no matter how many times you've seen it?

ZuZu's petals!!

I hate to become a stereotypical movie watcher here but...

Always the last kiss in the movie "Ghost."

The crying seen at the end of "Shadowlands."

Charlotte dying in "Charlotte's Web."

There's start anyway.

Nitelight: I just said I was a pussy, you dick. Now fuck me.

(It all comes back to sex, don't it? LOL)

The end of Shadowlands. Like Jade said, I'm always hiding my face during that scene, and about 15 minutes after the movie has ended.....So I'm a sap...

BTW, real nice to see you around again Jade *Hugs*

Yah know.....

I hate crying at movies. I hate crying. Not that I'm above it - just don't like it. So, never seen that movie. Nor The Yearling - just don't go there. Call me strange, please. Just don't need that kind of pain - for fun. Yah know?

As Far As Christmas Weepers Go...

You're absolutely right, Dix, about "It's a Wonderful Life". If you can watch that movie without tearing up you need to check your tear ducts (or your heart) because one of them sure isn't working.

Others:

Miracle on 34th Street (the original) - the scene where Santa meets the little dutch girl and sings the song with her.

A Christmas Carol (The George C. Scott version) - when Bob Cratchit is lamenting the death of Tiny Tim and telling the rest of his family what a "truly lucky man he is".

btw-I've just finished rereading the original story. What a master Dickens was! There's your tearjerker!

Prancer - Several scenes, but the one that gets me the most is the one where the father realizes what a jerk he's been to his daughter and he reads her the section from "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus".

So, Dix, it looks like you're not the only pussy around here. So stop bragging. :)

There is a wonderful Christmas movie called "The Homecoming" and there are several scenes near the end that I will shed a tear or two.

Thanks Xander.

I am moving officially this coming Wednesday after Christmas... turning a new leaf as they say.

Everything will hopefully just fall into place I guess right?

Ah well... off for now...

You're very welcome my friend :) yes time to turn that leaf and move on.

And yes, everything will eventually fall into place. That I'll guarentee you.

Drop in once in a while okay. At least so I know you're okay. *HUGS*

Not a pussy

Too many movies to name....

At the end of Rainman when Tom Cruise realises that he loves his brother.

At the end of Saving Private Ryan when Private Ryan is asking his wife to tell him that he is a good man and has lived a good life.

Good Will Hunting: when Robin Williams gets through to Will and will begins to own his anguish.

Theres three that bring tears to my eyes.

<handing Dixon my lace hanky>

awwwww I just cried over that movie this week, too, dear ... so we are both a couple of sentimental fools ... lol

.... I cry at any emotional scene in any movie ... it is a given ... lol

... soooooooooo I guess I am a bigger cry-baby than you ... ;)

That's a show I would pay to see, would pay even more to join in :D

What movie don't I cry at? I get weepy watching McDonald's commercials, but the last movie I remember crying over was A Diva's Christmas Carol on VH1. Vanessa Williams played Ebony Scrooge and at the end when she turned her life around I weeped like a little bitch.

I am the original sentimental cry baby. There are too many movies to list, but I love "It's a Wonderful Life", the best holiday movie ever. My other major tearjerker is the original "Affair to Remember" with Deborah Kerr & Cary Grant.

Listening to the score of RENT, I always get weepy around the reprise of "I'll Cover You" when Collins has just announced his lover has died. When I saw the show live, I was blubbering like a little girl. Bah! I hate crying.

I'll admit it: I cried when Old Yeller got shot. I also cried through most of the English Patient. My friend Beth and I huddled together in the 'chick' section of our little group, weeping helplessly while our respective gents mocked us. I don't feel too bad though, because as preemptive revenge, we made them sit through the movie in the first place.

Off topic, I love Ralph Fiennes.

I love you too, my darling naudiz. Damn this war for keeping us apart.

Remember a little alian named E.T. Yeah, the little guy that always says, "E.T. Phone Home"...I cry all the time when I watch that movie. I just can't help myself...

And Ghost...is another, the kiss scene at the end chokes me up everytime. My family thinks its hilarious. They all watch me when an emotional movie comes on, just waiting to see my tears flow. They know me so well.

Terms of Endearment
Steel Magnolias
Shadowlands
It's a Wonderful Life
My Life
The Joy Luck Club
and numerous others I can't think of right now

War is Hell, isn't it? When I mentioned being in the trenches, dear, this isn't what I had in mind.

Eve baby, I also weep when I see Macdonalds commercials. But that's because I think of all the karma that flies around one company responsible for the killing of so many cows. And thousands of hectars of rain forests - to clear for crazing the cows just before they get fat, just before they get killed. Yeah Eve, I weep too.

Actually, a friend of mine said not to worry about the cow thing because he thinks they use soya instead of real beef *laughs*.

I'm stuck on children's movies lately as my grandchildren seem to take up any movie time here.. Two of my all time tear jerkers is a Hallmark presentation called A Secret Garden and the Hallmark presentation called, The Little Princess.
