I'm sorry that there has to be war! It makes my heart break for those who will lose their lives. Innocent people and those who are defending our freedoms.
I'm not a big fan of our president, but I have to trust that his decisions are best. I enjoy a life of free speech, free movement, free enterprise, etc. I am blessed. Some say this war is unncessary. You have that right. I have to ask - why was Iraq building mass murder weapons - to bomb Turkey! I don't think so (and that is my opinion - FWIW). Some say it is a personal vendetta - maybe. Would Saddam keep his personal vendetta to George Sr. I don't think so. (Again, my opinion). Strike first or be struck. Remember that fist fight you got into as a kid?
War is human nature. As long as there have been people on this earth, there has been war. Look at this board - Lit members seem to be waging war on each other. It is sad. But we have war because we do not agree and so conflict arises without resolution - hence war begins.
I do not like war, and as my son gets ready to leave for the Army I become frightened. He is not. He says that he wants to serve his country and protect those that mean the most - even with his life. I admire him and am very proud of him. Not because he may go to war, but because he loves his family enough to go to war.
Peace!
