I am now. This morning (when I wrote that) I think I was still a little tipsy, enough to make me seek a lift rather than driving.

You're over it that quickly? I am impressed by your fortitude! When I get "drunk" I have to call in sick to work and it takes me three days of bed rest and IV fluids to recover.

Oh I never get a hangover more than a Force 1 and even that's fairly rare. </smugness>

I won't drive if I've had anything alcoholic beforehand. I know oyu're allowed 1 pint (legally speaking), but I won't even have that. 1 pint will still affect your reflexes, even if only minutely and imagine if you hit and killed a kid. You'd spend the rest of your life wondering if you would've stopped in time if you hadn't had that drink.

I'm with you on this. Many years ago one of my friends and I were so inebriated after a holiday party that she felt she couldn't drive us home, so instead of getting into a cab, we decided I was sober enough to drive! So wrong on every level. I managed to drive her giant SUV through the streets and somehow did the best parallel parking job ever, but could barely remember it the next day. I figured I probably used up all my good luck that night and have never gotten behind the wheel after a drink or two.
