I'm so domestic, it's frightening.

In the past 3 days I've made

3 dozen chocolate chip cookies
3 dozen of my secret recipe oatmeal raisin cookies
a double batch of peanut butter/chocolate fudge
a double batch of Irish Cream fudge
a batch of Amaretto fudge
a batch of fudge with toffee pieces instead of nuts
4 dozen chocolate no-bake cookies
3 dozen cornbread muffins
and a no-sugar-added apple, raisin walnut pie

I may not cook again for the rest of the year.

I made some Matzo ball soup and some brownies, does that count?

Merry Christmas, PCG!

And to you too!

I've got Italkian Meatball soup simmering on the woodburner. The whole house smells wonderful.

Does anyone have a recipe for figgy pudding, that they've actually used? I've never made it before, but someone is making a special request for xmas dinner.

Is that really enough for the entire Board? :p

I wish you lived close by...I'd love to exhange cookies with you (though I buy mine at the grocery store).

ok, i just gained 5 pounds just reading that...

You are an inspiration! That's what I'll be doing tomorrow. Me and a friend get together every Christmas and bake tons of cookies.

Wow! I should have sent you my address for a care package.;)
I wasn't quite as domestic or inspired this year. I did however, make 5 dozen decorated sugar cookies, and a couple of rum cakes.

Wow and I thought I made alot. I think I would go crazy after about the 5th thing. In fact I know it, that's why I stopped.

You are what I call "home-sexual".;)

Hey hon, I feel your flour-y pain! I posted my recipe for figgy pudding with custard sauce just this month...let me run a search and I'll get right back to you.

Found it!

Figgy Pudding with Custard Sauce

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
3 egg yolks
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons rum extract
1 apple, peeled and cored and finely chopped
1 pound dried figs, finely chopped
Grated peel of 1 lemon and 1 orange
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1 1/2 cups dried bread crumbs (I use Pepperidge Farm Sandwich Bread)
2 teaspoons baking powder
3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Custard Sauce (recipe follows)

Preheat oven to 325*F (160*C). Generously grease an oven-proof 2-quart bowl or mold; set aside.

Cream together butter and shortening. Gradually add sugar, egg yolks, milk, rum extract, apple, figs, lemon and orange peel. Add next 6 ingredients, mixing well. Fold stiffly beaten egg whites into mixture.

Pour into prepared bowl or mold and place into large shallow pan and place on middle rack in oven. Fill the shallow pan half-full with boiling water and steam pudding in oven slowly for 4 hours, replacing water as needed.

Custard Sauce:

2 cups milk
1 egg
3/4 cups sugar
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon butter

In saucepan, scald milk and allow to cool.
Mix together remaining ingredients, except for butter. Add to cooled milk. Cook over low heat until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in butter, mixing well.

Serve pudding warm with custard sauce. Store unused portions in refrigerator.

Makes 12 servings.

Oh Rosie, I knew I loved you for a reason!

I wish I had addresses for everyone, I'd send out lil packages of cookies and other yummies to everyone.

I'm down to one pan of fudge though, and I have three Christmas things between now and when we actually celebrate at my mom's house. So, I'm not even close to done cooking yet.

Can anyone explain how Mr PCG and 2 very small children can eat 3 dozen oatmeal cookies in 48 hours and still be skinny as hell? I'm pretty sure they don't have tapeworms.

I love you for your Roseanne Roseanna Danna, RR.

At that moment she's talking about how the woman she's talking to (I think It was Dianne Von Furstenburg) has "got a little ball of sweat hangin' off the end of her nose!"

*sigh* I love that one.
