I'm sick

Hugs :rose:

I used a combo of Now Elderberry & Zinc tablets and plain Elderberry ones which seems to make me feel better and shorten the duration. Also garlic broth helps, I will send you the recipe, its easy to make and tastes good.

If you are someone who gets strep, I would get a strep test.

I hope you feel better soon.

The bacterial germs that cause Strep are running insane in the Upper Eastern section of the USA right now...according to my son's doctor.

And its an easy test to get, just a throat culture; taken with what looks like an extra long Q-Tip swab.

i hope you don't have it, Etoile. But better to be safe than sorry. ;)

The good thing about strep is that within 24 of antibiotics you no longer have to worry about staying home or getting other people sick.

Yes, I know, I'm a bit of a fanatic about getting other people sick.

:rose:

I don't know if it's a cold or the flu or a sinus infection or what. Have had symptoms of all three. Currently feels mostly like a cold, but yesterday morning the ear pressure was insane (I have ear pressure issues anyway due to my accident, but this was off the scale), and I have had joint aches like the flu yesterday and a little today, but mostly I am just BLEAH. And I have a test tomorrow, splendid. I hate missing school.

Fuck me, she's reduced to faking an illness to get Internet attention from complete strangers now...

*hugs* Sounds like what the kids and K have been sharing the last week. Sucks.

Ovo lacto actually. Leafy greens, eh? I like spinach, might have some frozen stuff. I think I also have fake meat which is pretty high in protein, I could have both!
Fake meat? Isn't that a dildo?

Anyway, Zycam is wonderful stuff. But, you gotta start taking it SOON, because it works best when you take it at the earliest signs of your cold or flu.

But, it does do a good job at making the symptoms less noticable, and it also helps a lot with shortening the length of time you have the crud, too. Well, it does with me, anyway. A cold can hang out with me for over two weeks!

I don't get sick that often, but when I catch a cold, they seem to last for ever and end up with a hacking cough at the end. But, with Zycam, I don't feel that sick, and it doesn't last more than a week...even less if I catch it early. And I don't get that damn cough at the end, so I'm a happy camper with Zycam!

OK, enough with the commercial, but it's good stuff. Hot soup, or something Mexican seems to help with clearing out my head, too. I don't know about the ears...that's a new one on me. Is that a head cold?

I can get allergies that act like a cold, sometimes. They've got Zycam for that, too. Damn, they should send me a few cases of this stuff, I talk it up so much...

I can't take the normal cold medicines, because they all make me jittery...especially Sudafed. Nothing like that in Zycam.:D

Oh, I love spinach, too. Yum, yum, and good for you, too!:)

Etoile I've had the same thing... it sucks. I hope you were able to make your test.

It hit me last Wednesday, the weekend was the worst... but the body aches were gone by Monday and I've only had to contend with the congestion which seems to be ok as long as I can keep moving. I only drown when I sit still or lay down.

Hope you're feeling better soon.

As far as the congestion, found and old home remedy that works wonders. Even though it might not sound so wonderful.

Every 4 to 6 hours, make a mix of iodized salt with warm water; in a cup.
Take a drink, gargle that one; spit...next drink, slowly swallow it. Back and forth.

When you feel a small ache in your ear, be prepared to throw up. That helps break up the congestion. And it really works.

My son is slowly getting all his out. He don't like the idea though. But he knows it works, so he does it. :rose:

*waves*

Hey, hope you feel better. I came down with it yesterday when I got my period and my immune system went on the fritz.

I'm eating "Cold-eeze" like there's no tomorrow. That usually works for me. They have sugar-free cough drops and bubble gum too. I'll keep you posted if I can kick this, but I felt like death tonight.

:rose:

Hey everybody, I am feeling better, thank you! I still have some congestion but it is clearing up, I think I am hearing a little better, my voice is clearer, and the sniffles are going away!

Dove, I am so glad I did not see your suggestion while I was still sick. Nothing that involves throwing up sounds like fun to me!

Hey girlfriend. Glad to see you're feeling better. Tylenol Severe congestion kicked ass for me. The cold-eeze came through as well as a nice triple shot hot toddy.;) What's that saying? "Starve a cold, drown the flu"? Or was it "Starve a cold, get yourself so hammered, that you don't remember having the flu"? Something like that...yeah...

My wife reminded me not to take Tylenol while sick in case I decided I wanted a drink. I said "are you kidding? I can't even think about drinking!" I did last night though...crashed at my best friend's place because we stayed up drinking and talking till 1:30am. Guess I'm feeling better! :D

Drinking helps a lot more than it hurts, when it's with the right company. And the right booze! ;)
