Why god, why? The first nice day here and I'm off work. What's so bad about that you ask? I'm off sick not by choice with some kind of cold/flu thing, I'm not sure which. I think it's a cold because I'm not running a fever. Heh, I almost wish I was running a fever. The last few times I've taken my temp it's been 97.4 and I'm freezing my ass off. I always thought when you were this sick you ran a fever but NOOOO, leave it to me to be different. LOL

So here I am posting and whining and whining and posting. :) Anyone know a cure for this shit?

A hot bath, some tea, and wrap yourself up in the softest, warmest stuff you have.

I usually get those chills before a fever sets in, though. You might get that later.

Actually, this do work.

In cases like this, and the need for fast recovery.

2-3 strong shots of something. In bed, sleep 6 hours. and you'll feel as good as new.

If not that, then 3 hrs in a sauna. And cold showers work too.

I can't imagine having cold anything right now. Scalding hot shower maybe, but not cold. My great grandpa swore by the shot of whiskey and wrap in a blanket cure. I'm about willing to try anything right now. I'm damn cold and that's it!! :)

CreamyLady I usually get the chills when I already have a fever but this hypothermia while wearing a sweatsuit and a robe is a new one on me. Dammit I hate winter.

Uhm Iris. what I meant was. When you've been in the sauna. you need to have a quick cold shower. In order to open the pores in your skin, and then when you start sweating in the sauna again. You'll sweat it all out.

It's a bitch to do. But will work.

And take two ot three shots. That usually helps as well. Not just one.

Iris, I meant that I get the chill before the fever sets in. I know I'm in for a rotten time when I start getting so cold that I'm aching. After I finally get warm -- THEN the fever hits.

Seriously, a hot bath or shower, warm clothes when you get out (I have my sweats in the dryer at those times), and a heating pad warming my bed. I also drink some very hot tea once I'm in bed, and then burrow.

It helps if you have someone warm to cuddle with, too, but that isn't always an option.

Xander's idea of a shot or two or three isn't bad. I often throw a shot of whisky in with my tea and some honey and lemon.
