Hi everyone! I have just joined this site and have just submitted my first story (which is still pending).

It looks like you guys really let rip and don't hold back with the critcism - Im beginning to wish I hadn't submitted!

No seriously - it looks like there are a good few of you willing to help out the little virgins around here and if my story is accepted I will be back for opinions!

There's probably two main reasons why people ask for feedback: 1) They want positive strokes to build up their ego, and/or 2) They want to get better as writers and are willing to take criticism (and hopefully use it) to improve their craft. I think if you are totally in it for the former, the criticism might seem harsh; if you are genuinely part of the latter, then it won't hurt so much.

I think the people who post reviews, for the most part, are sincerely trying to help; if I post a number of negative critiques, I'll also try to include things that I liked about the story.

Also realize that there's a wide number of genres when it comes to erotic stories and one story's style may suit some reviewers but not others.

Thanks for your comments Hotcappucino - I really was only joking about being 'scared'! I want honest opinions and advice on how to improve - although a little ego massaging is always fun!
