I'm Off

Tell her to reap it in a sickle of leather
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme
And to gather it all in a bunch of heather
Then she'll be a true love of mine

Even a beginner can learn this song on a guitar.
Nice tune.

I thought of Lee when I posted that. I've always wanted to go to one of the fairs. They had one each year south of Dallas, but I could never talk the kids into going.

If it's that easy to learn, you may have to teach me. ;)

A big thank you to Lee for this one...

A bright, young, fresh-out-of-school auditor just joined the IRS, excited to
begin tracking down high-powered offenders-just as the Enron or Anxious for
his first high-powered audit, he was a bit dismayed when is assignment was
to audit a Rabbi.

Looking over the books and taxes were pretty straight forward, and the Rabbi
clearly very frugal, so he thought he'd make his day interesting by having a
little fun with the Rabbi.

"Rabbi," he said, "I noticed that you buy a lot of candles."

"Yes," answered the Rabbi.

"Well, Rabbi, what do you do with the candle drippings?" he asked.

"A good question," noted the Rabbi. "We actually save them up and when we
have enough, we send them back to the candle maker. And every now and
then, they send us a free box of candles."

"Oh," replied the auditor somewhat disappointed that his unusual question
actually had a practical answer. So he thought he'd go on, in his obnoxious
way...

"Rabbi, what about all these matzo purchases? What do you do with the crumbs
from the matzo?"

"Ah, yes," replied the Rabbi calmly, "we actually collect up all the crumbs
from the matzo and when we have enough, we send them in a box back to the
manufacturer and every now and then, they send a box of matzo balls."

"Oh," replied the auditor, thinking hard how to fluster the Rabbi.

"Well, Rabbi," he went on, "what do you do with all the foreskins from the
circumcisions?"

"Yes, here too, we do not waste," answered the Rabbi. "What we do is save up
all the foreskins, and when we have enough we actually send them to the
I.R.S."

"The I.R.S.?," questioned the auditor in disbelief.

"Ahh, yes," replied the Rabbi, "the I.R.S. ....and about once a year, they
send us a little prick like you."

Another You

There's a new world somewhere They call the promised land,
And i'll be there someday if You could hold my hand,
I still need you there beside me, No matter what i do,
For i know i'll never find another You..

There is always someone for each of us they say,
And You'll be my someone forever and a day,
I could search the whole world over Until my life is through,
But i know i'll never find Another You..

It's a long, long journey, So stay by my side.
When i walk through the storm,
You'll be my guide, Be my guide,,,

If they gave me a fortune My pleasure would be small.
I could lose it all tomorrow, And never mind at all.

But if i should lose Your love dear, I don't know what i'll do.
For i know i'll never find, another You....

But if i should lose Your love dear, I don't know what i'll do.
For i know i'll never find Another You... Another You, Another You.....

SWEET THING
Van Morrison

And I will stroll the merry way
And jump the hedges first
And I will drink the clear
Clean water for to quench my thirst
And I shall watch the ferry-boats
And they'll get high
On a bluer ocean
Against tomorrow's sky
And I will never grow so old again
And I will walk and talk
In gardens all wet with rain

Oh sweet thing, sweet thing
My, my, my, my, my sweet thing
And I shall drive my chariot
Down your streets and cry
'Hey, it's me, I'm dynamite
And I don't know why'
And you shall take me strongly
In your arms again
And I will not remember
That I even felt the pain.
We shall walk and talk
In gardens all misty and wet with rain
And I will never, never, never
Grow so old again.

Oh sweet thing, sweet thing
My, my, my, my, my sweet thing
And I will raise my hand up
Into the night time sky
And count the stars
That's shining in your eye
Just to dig it all an' not to wonder
That's just fine
And I'll be satisfied
Not to read in between the lines
And I will walk and talk
In gardens all wet with rain
And I will never, ever, ever, ever
Grow so old again.
Oh sweet thing, sweet thing
Sugar-baby with your champagne eyes
And your saint-like smile....

Two very good sets of lyrics. Thank you, both.
It's hard to believe this Thread is pushing a thousand posts. It feels good to have great friends. And, wenches to boot.

If you are, I can head up to Pennsylvania and rub out that groundhog for predicting more winter weather. ;)

If you make it as far as Pennsylvania, you'd better keep going... turn northwest at P. Phil's place, and head for Lake Michigan.
Don't rub him out, come keep me warm instead

We have about 3 fresh inches on the ground, on top of what was left from the past several weeks. So, I got to shovel the walk and all around the car as part of the trip to the store.

When I got home I went downstairs and dumped the water in the boiler, refilled it, and now I'm sitting here with my fingers crossed... hoping that I did it right, lol. I hear the pipe beginning to make noise here, so I'm thinking it was a success. (The water level was low, and it had sediment in it)

Jiminy Cricket, I hope you did it right, too. Is there a way to get in touch with J to make sure? Or someone locally?

You're right though. Punxsutawney can't do anything about the weather, he just predicts it. LOL
How about if I just drive straight to Michigan? :rose:

Well, the radiator is warm now, so I think it's fine. I would call the boiler guy if there was a problem, J would get too excited. Hyperkid, lol!

Straight to Michigan? I'll be waiting at the door! :)

Tell me you'll be wearing that corset and stockings and I'll 'fly' without benefit of transportation. :p

THE BEST IS YET TO COME
(Coleman / Leigh)
Ella Fitzgerald

Out of the tree of life, I just picked me a plumb
You came along and everything started to hum
Still it's a real good bet, the best is yet to come

The best is yet to come and won't that be fine
You think you've seen the sun, but you ain't seen it shine

Wait till the warm-up's underway,
Wait till out lips have met
Wait till you see that sunshine day
You ain't seen nothin' yet

The best is yet to come and won't that be fine
The best is yet to come, from the day that your mine

From the day that your mine
I'm gonna teach you to fly
We've only tasted the wine
We're gonna drain that cup dry

Wait till your charms are right, for these arms to surround
You think you've flown before, but you ain't left the ground

Wait till you're locked in my embrace
Wait till I hold you near
Wait till you see that sunshine place
There ain't nothin' like it here

The best is yet to come, and won't that be fine
The best is yet to come, from the day that your mine

From the day that your mine
I'm gonna teach you to fly
We've only tasted the wine
We're gonna drain that cup dry

Seems like we just talked about flying, pretty one. :rose:

Yes, they are.

Sheesh, Lit and AOL must be having a cyber battle, tonight. I can't seem to stay on either.
