I'll Serenade You

Might As Well Kiss Me Goodbye
All Words And Music By Kenne Silva (Copyright 1999)

The sky cracked open, an’ the rain poured down-but will it wash my pain away;
I met an old friend, that I didn’t know-and we both had nuthin’ to say.
My life kept on rollin’, nearly passed me by-seemed like the end was near;
The Little Red Engine started fallin’ behind-and the view ain’t so good from the rear.

Well, you might as well take it on faith, and you might as well give it a try;
You might as well reach out and turn the page, you might as well look it in the eye-
And you might as well kiss me goodbye...

Ya see now honey, you had your day-but I think it’s time for a change;
You pushed me too far, and it turned around-now you’re a little bit out of your range.

Well, I ain’t gonna play by your rules no more;
It’s my time baby, gonna even the score.
So how do you feel trapped in your own lie?
You ain’t gonna fool me with that tear in your eye-
You know; you might as well kiss me goodbye...

Well I’ll be damned buddy, now here’s the Sun-to reach out and take my hand;
Better days are comin’, if ya keep believin’-you’re more than a grain of sand...

Now in the driver’s seat I take my place-and take a final look around;
I glance up into the rear-view mirror-that’s the best way to look at this town...

Well, you might as well take it on faith, you might as well give it a try.
You might as well reach out and turn the page, you might as well look it in the eye-
And you might as well kiss me goodbye...
...might as well kiss me goodbye...

It's sad, Kenne...sad but good! :D

To quote Jimi Hendrix - "Still Rainin', Still Dreamin'"

Where Are They Now
All Words And Music By Kenne Silva (copyright 1985)

When you are a child, your head all full of dream;
But life goes on, and life ain’t always what it seems...

Soon you’ll meet the people who say they are your friend;
“I’ll walk every step of the way, even ‘til the end.”

Thru tear-stained eyes I look, where are they now?
I stand with a gun in my hand, where are they now?

They’ll quote ya from the Good Book, “you see life’s this way.”
But life falls right into place-when you’re not the one to pay...

It’s not what I had hoped for, it’s not what I had planned;
Well, maybe after I’m gone-then they’ll understand...

How thru tear-stained eyes I look, where are they now?
I stand with a gun in my hand, where are they now?

I believed in their promises-and now they’re gone;
And all that left of me, are the words in my song...
...the words in my song...

...when you are a child...

Aaaaaaawwwwwww....

You're gonna have me cryin' all over my keyboard Kenne...makin' me wish I could hold you like that little child right now....:(

What A Loser...

I’d Have Given You Anything
All Words And Music By Kenne Silva (copyright 1999)

Sunlight streams through the window and it’s time to face another lonely day;
As I listen to you breathing, I hear the words that you’ll never say.
I’d be the first to tell you that love comes with no guarantee-
And as I watch you sleeping, I wonder where you’d rather be...

She never saw it that way-I guess if she did she’d stay;
But if you wanted me to-I’d have given you anything...

Your hair cascades on the pillow in every direction we’ve been in;
Now you want out of a relationship you’ve never really been in.
Our laughter melts to tears until I’m standing in the pouring rain;
You sigh in your sleep like the whistle of a lost, lonely train...

Suddenly you roll over and breathily you call out my name;
But after last night, what you didn’t say-we’d never be the same.
I know you’d convince yourself that in your heart you really care-
But I’d never recognize that place cause you know that I’ve never really been there...

She never saw it that way-I guess if she did she’d stay;
But if you wanted me to-I’d have given you anything...
...I’d have given you anything...

...this song is not about any person...
