If you've doubts about your stories or would just like to see what an editor thinks, there are a lot of great resources here to toss your ideas out and see what kind of reception they receive. If you're secure in your story ideas you can always contact a volunteer editor and see what they think, or there is a story feedback forum you could post to and find out what some of the best writers here think of your submissions.

Have a thick skin and an open mind and things should go well. Or if you're set on telling a particular story, there's no harm in submitting outright and awaiting approval or diapproval. One way or another, you'll find out what the site is looking for regarding story submissions.

Welcome, and good luck.

Welcome!

To add to what Lucky has said, to start the process -

Erotic Story Index Page

You'll find links to answer all these questions.

Frequently Asked Questions - All your Literotica-related questions answered!
Submit - Submit your stories, pictures, or other work to Literotica.
Volunteer Editors - Find someone to help you with your writing.
Writer's Resources - From Submission Guidelines to Volunteer Editors to helpful essays, this section has all you need to polish your story!

I would suggest starting here. Read through all of this and then you'll have enough information to get specific answers to your questions.

I started writing the same way as you, sending naughty stories to my husband. I could always tell by his - um - bodily reaction - whether or not my story was working! LOL

Write your story, have at least one other person read it, and then if you feel confident enough submit the thing! (And then wait the typical 3-7 days for it to post).

IF you need editorial work, you'll hear about it right away from reader feedback, and then you can always seek out help from a volunteer editor. (If you wait to do that first you may be waiting a long time, however.)

Submit. Start the process. And it will feel so damn good to read something of your own on this site!

Good luck! I look forward to reading your work!

:)
