I want a program that will simply allow me to password-protect a whole folder, without encrypting or compressing it. It's so time-consuming to decrypt a large folder. Does anyone know of a program that will do this?

It depends on what version of windows you're running how well a folder can be protected.

Under Win 98, I don't know of any way to password protect a folder adequately if you have multiple user logins without compression or encryption because the file system doesn't support protection of individual folders directly.

Cyberski's suggestion appears to be suitable for protecting Data, but from the descriptions I would expect problems if you have any executable files in the folder you want to encrypt. I haven't tried it, but it only mentions protecting Data and says nothing about progrms you want protected in the dscription.
